Let there be no doubt, today is a media day. Across the spectrum of Obama supporters and detractors, the media is hyping his speech today as his make or break moment. I totally disagree, but how can I stop it? I foresee a frenzy of people who will use this as the moment he backtracks. I want my Obama back, no more distractions, fired-up, ready to go, and inspirational again!

I would also like to point out that the ‘Wicked Witch’ has done it once again. Yesterday she claimed that she had a concrete plan for Iraq and her opponent did not. Yet, in a brief moment right after that, the Witch said she would gather her advisors and come up with a plan in the first 60 days of office. For one, I thought she said she was ready on Day one…LIAR. She doesn’t have a concrete plan for anything!!! Wake up you Witch wannabe’s, she lies and you buy it each and every day.

Senator Obama is expected to raise the bar from the talk that has been taken place across America since last week. He is going to have to convince people that he does not share the Reverend’s views. He is going to fail I’m afraid. Why? Because he is going to be speaking to white racists, who will never, ever be pleased with what he has to say. People in this country do not listen to themselves when they speak. That is unfortunate. Because if they took a minute to be honest, they would know that they are using the Reverend to bring down Senator Obama.

How is it possible to throw away a good candidate for one {Clinton}who never took the time to think about what the Bush Administration was doing. And now 4,000 Americans have lost their lives. This isn’t about putting together a Health Care package. This is about thousands of people dying.

Yet people in this country are more afraid of the Reverend than they are of Hillary Clinton’s judgment.

This country will never change as long as we have Sean Hannity, Bill Kristol and their like on the air waves. They are despicable people.

Where is the educated, sophisticated media in this country who will have the courage to speak up? Well, there’s Keith Olbermann and Rachael Maddow. Anyone else?

No. We’re back to square one. And people in this country are allowing this to happen. Again.

I remember a year ago. Democrats believed we could turn the page on a bad chapter in American history. We could show the country a fundamental difference in how this party governs from republicans. I remember and then I watch this.

A frontrunner in every sense of the word is reduced to defending a minister or denouncing/rejecting him. Really? How about this, could it be that this is another group that Obama hopes to unite under one banner. The USA.

The RNC doesn't apologize from the "fringe" ministers, they seek campaign endorsements and contributions from them! How can this A.D.D country let McCain get endorsments from the same ministers HE DENOUNCED?! Let McCain denounce reject and whatnot some more. Or maybe we can talk about something more significant. Like what made us look forward to this election to begin with.

On another network last night, they took an online poll during the program. 8000 people voted in less than an hour. 72% said Obama cannot say anything to correct his Wright problem, that it's political suicide. 12% said he's said enough.

Typical of FR to enter your comment "should you use the word mugging". You just add to the problem. As far as Bill Clinton's comment in SC re Jackson and Obama, it was taken out of context. Clinton is an astute student of politics. He noted that Jackson won in SC in 84 and 88 but didn't get the nomination. He also said Jackson ran a good campaign and so had Obama. So where was the racist part of that comment? It was a fact. It's too bad, I guess, that he didn't pick some "white" candidate for his example. The "PC Police" are keeping a flame under the fire of racism. If people can't discuss it, then your stifling the issue.

A VERY SMART MOVE BY OBAMA:

You guys in the press have made so much of this story. You have actually killed the story with your over-detailed he said, she said reporting none of which can be proven or disproven reagrding Obama's personal beliefs. And what matters now after you have beaten this story to death is what does Obama believe regardless of Wright's comments. And Obama is very wisely taking this opportunity, gaining the limelight away from everyone else, to speak directly to the American people (as if he were already President). And he will give a speech that that encourages unity and harmony. You people in the press will eat it up and report that Obama did well or even hit a home run. After this speech, in a day or two, watch for some additional non-committed superdeleagtes to jump on Obama's bandwagon. They will use this uplifting speech that Obama will be delivering today as the opportunity to throw their support behind him. Watch and see.

Question - if the Florida Democrats killed any chance of re-vote in that state, does this mean that the DNC can decide to honor the results of the January primary, and seat the delegates based on those results? If so, no a single Obamabot can complain. Unlike in Michigan, Obama was on the ballot in that state. And despite the rules against campaigning in that state, he did just that by skirting around the rule and airing campaign ads on TV stations in neighboring areas he knew also served Florida areas. Therefore, should the DNC forgive Florida for breaking the rules, which it should since the Florida democratic primary was held in a such a manner because of the republicans who control that state's gov't, then we should just accept it, and move on.

What he will attempt to to with his speech today is to convince all of us that he didn't know what was going on in his church of 20+ years, and he had no idea of the racist and separatists views of both his pastor and his church. This from a man that says he has better judgment then Clinton, Edwards, or Bush. How he could know what was going on in his very own church appears to be a lie of epic proportions. There is nothing taken out of context that can defend what Pastor Wright said, and what Barack Obama had to have know about. Although agreed Obama does not have to hit what is called a home run in his speech he will hit a home run. Why? What else is the press going to report after someone speaks about unity and harmony and encourages everyone to get along? That he failed to hit a home run, lol. I don't think so. The press will be lavishing praise on Obama after the speech. If the press can say that Romney (who gives boring and emotionaless speeches) gave a decent speech when he addressed his Mormon religion what the heck do you think they will say about Obama's speech. It is interesting how so many Obama supporters want to blame Clinton for Obama's lack of judgement in remaining tied to Rev. Wright for 20 years. Since Mr. Obama very readily critizes the judgement of Ms. Clinton, let us all look at his lack of judgement and his political manipulation of a variety of bad judgements he has used over the years. The list is too long to go into here but we have heard at least 3 different stories from Obama regarding his association with Rezko, his propensity to avoid taking a stand and voting on important issues (130 present votes in IL and missing 40% of votes in US Senate, the removal from circulation of Michelle's Princeton thesis (not exactly the transparent action of someone stating that Ms. Clinton is hiding something by not releasing her tax returns) and now Rev. Wright. Mr. Obama, you are a huckster.

Besides, they can only attempt to get certain laws passed and certain plans put into action. Most of what they CLAIM (including your precious little Obama), they're going to do requires the 2/3 of the Congress agreeing with them to the extent that they pass the laws necessary to support their plans.

Get a Clue.

Despite what you and the other supporters think, Obama just wants to get elected. That's why he belongs to a church that spews inflamatory hate speach toward whites and the United States of America.

When ANYONE is advised the way Obama has been advised by someone like Rev. Wright for over 20 years, it influences who that person becomes and how they think and see the world.

People like Rev. Wright who cleary have a certain level of hate for the U.S. are entitled to their opinion, but they don't deserve to be alowed to live in this country.

If Rev. Wright and Michelle Obama are so ashamed of the U.S., then they should get the hell out of this country.

Pat Buchannan (when will msnbc get rid of him? He belongs on Fox. Surely there are conservative journalists who can offer reasoned analysis)compared Rev. Wright to David Duke, who ACTIVELY spent his life participating in anti-black causes. Where is the evidence that Rev. Wright has spent his life ACTIVELY participating in anti-white causes? Oh, that's right - there are snippets of inflammatory remarks - that says it all.

Well, it doesn't say it all, and the MSM will not offer other perspectives of Rev. Wright until Obama is ruined. Why is the media so hell bent on showing Rev. Wright as a one-dimensional figure? Not only does Hillary move the goal posts, but the media has moved Obama's goalpost so that he must throw a 200 yard touchdown or else he 'fails'.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that caught that. "Mugging"?! And in the same breath, he tries to claim he's not race-baiting? Generally, if you want to avoid race-baiting, you refrain from declaring that a black man "mugged" you. I mean, that to me is pretty obvious that Bill WAS race-baiting, because that's a reference not many of the working class whites in PA and OH may catch, but it's EXTREMELY apparent to everyone else. So, I have very little doubt Clinton was doing what the Clintons do best, underhanded deception. Race-bait under the radar of the people they're trying to convince not to vote for the black guy, and hoping that someone tries to call them out, and then the Clintons play the victim card, and slice up the Democratic party even more.

People seem to instinctively know that no church would survive if all they preached was a diatribe of hatred. Obama doesn't need to explain to me why he's a member of any church. And I find it really insulting that people question why he and his family remain members of the church. He denounced the most inflamatory talk, but he didn't have to. He is correct, there is more that unites us than divides us. It is also correct to observe that because he has a black father and a white mother he has the credibility to stand against the former racial divide in this country. The exact same speech he will soon deliver would not have the same meaning or the same power if delivered from someone with a less unique circumstance - like his oponent.

That is what the original comments were supposed to mean...they unfortunately were taken out of context and spun out of control to the point that we now have a 'King-like' speech coming from the candidate for hope and a vision of change. I see this only uniting many people for Obama. Which goes back to the fact that 'he wouldn't be in this position if he wasn't a black man' - words from Ferrero.

Let me get this straight: Romney had to give "the speech" explaining his religion early in the primary season. Obama has to give "the speech" about race during the primary season. I don't really buy the whole 14th amendment argument that "1.7" keeps posting. The state is required by the 14th Amendment to conduct the election according to federal rules. But it does so, in the primaries, for a private party (the respective national committees) The National committees are allowed to set their own rules on what to do with the results of those elections.

Since FL broke the DNC rules, the DNC is within it's rights to not seat them or do what ever they want. And they told FL up front what was going to happen. In states where the Republicans broke the rules the RNC is seating half of its delegates for those states, and they are within their rights as well.

The 14th amendment only applies with how the states run their elections, not to what is done with the results. FL and MI did their job, they just did it too early.

First of all Adam, if you really believe or expect that other people should believe that these two examples of Rev. Wrights' behavior (thirty second sound bites, as you put it)are isolated, you're not very bright.

Rev. Wright has not behaved that way only on two occasions, he has behaved that way for years and that type of behavior is offensive and deplorable and should not be tolerated.

Moreover, Obama should be condemed, but not for a few thirty second sound bites, but for allowing himself to be advised and influenced by Rev. Wright for over 20 years.

Obama absolutely is who he is today as a result of sitting in Rev. Wright's church, having been married by Rev. Wright, having had his daughters baptized by Rev. Wright and being advised by Rev. Wright for over 20 years, and that's the issue that so many people in this country have a problem with that Obama supporters just don't seem to get.

There are many people in this country that do believe that a person should be measured by the company they keep, especially if that person is running for President of the United States.

I am constantly amazed at how little Americans know about our own constitution and laws.

The 14th amendment and ALL voting rights laws apply ONLY to voting run by governmental entities.

The DNC is a private entity, not a government and they can run their nominating process any way they choose. This explains the incredible variety in methods of choosing delegates from state to state across the country. If the DNC were subject to voting rights laws they could not run a caucuses in some states,primaries in others and strange combinations of the two in others and yet give all delegates selected exactly the same weight in the nomination process.

If the DNC had wanted to it could have ruled that only super delegates could vote at the convention and that would not be illegal (dumb but not illegal). They could rule that only states with the letter U in their name could vote at the convention - still not illegal!

No one has been disenfranchised in their right to vote in the federal election. That election does not happen until November and they are all free to vote then.

I'm not condoning any statements by Rev Wright but people ought to take the time to see full context of work done at Trinity. My understanding is that congregation at Trinity is incredibly diverse and the church does a lot of good work in the community.

Suffice to read the recent declarations of NY Lieutenant Governor, David Peterson, and his sincere, mind-boggling declaration of extramarital affairs (of both equally he and his wife) to observe in effect an outright sincere, uncompromising future president of the United States. Obama cannot start to fill Mr. Peterson’s shoes. There the stuff presidents are made of. Ultimately, here what I consider Mr. Obama irrevocable shortcoming. If he wanted to change this nation why he couldn’t change his pastor and church? Why he never confronted his pastor on this issue until it came up in youtube? Why is Hillary still in the Race? It's not about the Presidency! It's not about the General Election! Hillary isn't dumb. She knows full well that she stands little in the chance of defeating John McCain, has even endorsed him over Obama as a better candidate. No, what drives Hillary is History. She wants history to show that she was the first. Even if she looses the general, she would still win. She gets into the books as the first female presidential candidate, plus she gets control of the Democratic Party. As the nominee, she would be the head of the party. That affords her the access to put in place her people, her policies, her ideology. She doesn't care if the party is ruptured in her fight for the nomination for she gets to control it afterwards. She will personally rebuild the party in her own image. That is what's driving her to stay in the race. That is the end plan.

Next question, how many tapes of Rev Write's pulpit speeches did the Clinton campaign purchase so that they could mash together all the nasty parts to make available to the general public?

Next question, and this is for the older Clinton supporters. Did you watch and laugh along with Archie Bunker, All in the Family? When Archie made his comments, did you laugh because you agree with what he said, or because it was funny? Why would you find those comments funny? Would it not, in Howard Wolfsons's reasoning, make you a racist for watching the show? Guilt by association, being held responsible for the comments of others, or worse, being held to the reason that to know another is to be assumed that you share the same beliefs, is terrifying. There are plenty of historical examples, Germany, Soviets, etc., that have their people to this standard, and the drastic consequences. Is America going down this road?

I am a Floridian and I voted in the primary. I voted on Amendment 1 only, not for a presidential candidate because I knew that a vote for a presidential candidate would not be counted.

So if 1.7 million is the total number of ballots cast than the statement is misleading because not all persons voting voted for a candidate

Amendment 1 was on property tax reform.

And an a comment on another issue. I am a Catholic. Do I agree with everything the clergy or the Pope says...
No I do not!! Does that mean that I leave the Church ? Today I learned of a member of the Clergy who was just been defrocked. He was my parish priest for many years. I pity him rather than condemn him.

It seems clear to me that Hillary can't win now. So why is she still in this contest?

I have read of one possible reason. On MyDD (http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/3/16/18411/2283) they are debating the possibility that a compromise could be reached by Harry Reid, Howard Dean, Al Gore, and Nancy Pelosi. Essentially, Reid retires as Senate majority leader and backs Hillary Clinton for that role. The price? Hillary withdraws from the race and a bloodbath at the convention is avoided.

Because the Senate has more power than the House of Representatives, for example, voting on confirmations such as federal judges, she would then be the second most powerful politician in the USA after Obama. Even with a McCain presidency she would have a huge amount of power because McCain would be facing a Senate with around 55 Democrats or so - he could not get anything done without having Senate's approval - therefore he would need to rely on the Senate majority leader to prevail.

Clinton is apparently a popular senator (with other senators) and grasps the intricacies of how the Senate works - it could be a consolation prize that she could find acceptable.

That being said, Clinton won't go for such a deal until she is convinced that she has absolutely no chance of winning. That could happen possibly after the North Carolina and Indiana primaries.
