Who will pay for all of Obama's bailouts? The US is how far in debt? Im sorry but if a Bank wants to take a chance on someone they know can't pay, and if someone buys a house that they can't afford, then they both deserve what they get. Obama makes a great speech unfortunately there is nothing to back it up, He only had a few years in the senate and what did he do? Nothing much of anything. How can Americans follow someone's words blindly with nothing to back it up? Taking a chance on someone to run this country with no service other than a few years is too big a risk. Want some more facts.

1. Clinton can't win without steeling the elction.
2. Obama makes mistakes, and admits them.
3. McCain's ideas today do not match up with his ideas eight years ago.

Sometimes I find myself becoming angry when I read some of the comments people post becaouse it shows me just how quick people will voice opinions and how slow they are to pay attention to facts. The FL and MI thing is a huge example. I have heard so many people say it is Obama who is keeping their votes from counting. These people don't pay attention to detail. Clinton and Obama were on the same page with FL and MI untill Clinton started loosing, then suddenly she cares about seating their delagates. Hmm.. isn't that interesting. Is Obama perfect? Nope. Does he lie? Yup, he did about Wright. But he also had the nuggets (excuse my sexest analogy) to stand up and admit he lied. Clinton must have PTSD from all that sniper fire that never happened. Come on, you were caught, admit it. Only your blind supports are actually going to beleive you misspoke and don't clearly remember events. How do you forget sniper fire?

I really don't understand it. I think it is great to be involved, take a stand and back it up. But please back it up with facts. You all look really silly. And no this doesn't go for just Clinton supports. There are a lot of blind Obama followers to. Don't be that person. Please, for yourself.

Obama hits McCain on economics

If you guys think bring are troops home right away and just leaving Iraq like it is we will be in deep trouble her in the US. Both Hillary and Barack are clear about their message: that the direction of the GOP is not the direction that will bring this country around. Democrats who are willing to vote for John McCain will make the same mistake they made voting for G.B. because they "felt so good" about him and found Al Gore too stuffy or whatever. If this election is lost to John McCain it will be by Democrats who have no understanding that the election is about a direction and not about "feeling good." I will vote for either Democratic candidate who gets the nomination. I have long ago put aside my "feelings" when my "favorite" bowed out. This election cannot be about a "personality" be it Barack or Hillary. Therefore, I live on a tight budget and don't have a house because I understand that I CANNOT afford one. (It's budget 101). I think that it's unfair to me to have to subsidize (with MY tax money) irresponsible people who decided to buy $300K houses with no money down despite the fact that they make the same or less than I do. Illinidiva , Chicago, IL

Most Americans who are losing their homes, are not the $300k crowd, but the families that live lean and put their faith in the idea that the American Dream was possible for them too - house payments that would be in line with typical rental units in their areas.

It is a problem that lenders and their surrogates could create products with hidden costs, fees, and interest rate hikes, hidden penalties for paying back a mortgage early (that meant the lender would not otherwise recoup investments in the higher interest rate earnings) that has created this escalating problem.

The industry was supposed to be regulated by government agencies already - the lack of follow through on the use of our tax dollars is one category that should be dealt with. We already pay for subprime mortgage gaurantees through government agencies. Lenders and underwriters should not have been so greedy that they would take the country down to earn a few extra bucks through an increasing use of subprime mortage programs, often used for people w who were elegible for standard fixed rate mortgages.

(Please post - I have submitted several times and have yet to be posted.)

Obama hits McCain on economics

Obama will turn the United States into a divided Socialist State. Have we ever thought the reason of his surge in Republican primary?

Because they knew very well that if Hillary is the nominee then many voters like independents, some democrat who does not personally like Hillary will be leaning towards McCain and if Barack Obama is the nominee, Barack will single handedly defeat theirs but they are in belief that may be McCain will be little better contender than any other republican candidate. Because of a democrat like Joe Lieberman who also for war and biased with foreign policy and mostly sided with foreign agendas than domestic issues and his endorsement can not validated McCain’s candidacy to us.
But make no mistake; McCain will be the other side if the coin of Bush-Cheney doctrine .he will bring more war to come which will cost us trillions of dollars from our domestic agendas. Also do not discount the age factor and because of the age, he will have to depend more than anyone else to his cabinets because of his age factor.
So we as a democrat and as an independent, we should not be considering McCain as our alternate but what we should do is carry Obama’s message of hope, change and a dream of better future and spread it to all the corner of the country and at the end we should be able to rally as a uniform and united democrat behind who ever is our nominee.
Obama hits McCain on economics

John McCain has no plan to rebuild our ailing economy and he said “I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still need to be educated” What a joke! We are sending some one who has no knowledge about struggled economy and who will promote our country by military and foreign policy. We should not forget that our investment on decades of old foreign policy is one of the main reasons for all this mess for many years. We are abandoning our domestics’ agendas over our greed to foreign occupation and we are empting out our national resources to preserve other nation’s interest. McCain is a big part of our failed foreign policy and all their disaster happened due to that is part of his problem.

Obama hits McCain on economics

Mccain change his position more than the wind change its course in a minute.Few months ago he said that our state of the economy is strong and we are at our best in economy and health care in the world.Last night he said that we are facing a tough time and our economy is suffering at worst but failed to deliver any policy or solution to salvage our nation's ailing economy.
Is not that great that we are prefering some one who prefers war over fixing our economy.Mccain wants to spend 12 billions dollars a month for next 100 years and decline to fix our housing mess. he declines to pay any attention to fix health care and he does not want to improve our education system.
What plans or substances he has in his speeches other than empty rehtoric of war mongering.

Obama hits McCain on economics

Hey Todd, so Obama has sold his soul to his contributors and that the people he owes will be running this country? Oh, God, I hope so. The average Obama contribution is $109.00 - from people like me, a single woman living on the underpaid salaray of a public school teacher. Obama's contributors are the people, the little people.

Obama hits McCain on economics

This site has yet to post one single comment I've made, but I keep on trying. "If you were lured in by deceptive mortgage practices you're on your own." How amazingly AUDACIOUS. Obama became a millionaire when he wrote two best selling books. If you actually look at his tax returns that is very obvious.

Also, Obama wrote a letter to the chairman of the Fed and the Secretary of the Treasury a year ago asking them to address the issue of sub-prime loans and home foreclosures before it became a crisis. It was a very detailed letter about what he saw as the issues and suggestions on how to address them. I think the fact that he could see this coming and tried to head it off at the pass is very astute and commendable. I want a president who will recognize that something is going to be a problem and deal with it before it gets this bad. I didn't see it coming, did you?

http://obama.senate.gov/press/070322-obama_urges_ber/
Obama hits McCain on economics

David of San Francisco, one intelligent post here. You are right, voters need to look at Obama's campaign advisors, especially David Axelrod his manager, Ms. Pritzker his Finance Manager who was a CEO of Superior Bank in Chicago, a bank involved in the Savings and Loan scandals. Obama's economic advisors believe in the Bush strategies. Look where our economy is because of Republicans. Don't be fooled by Obama's aura of everything will be all right if we just get along, that's what Bush told us too.
Obama people keep saying research his site to see his plans, well have any of you researched Hillary's site to see her detailed point by point plans for all our issues? www.hillaryclinton.com

Obama hits McCain on economics

there are people that seem to want to rewrite history. obama is the candidate that has benifited from crossover republican and independent votes.,, because they knew just as any objective observer knows now that obama is flawed and cannot win in the general. but then again clinton probably couldn't either. the progressive democtatic wing has once again handed the republicans the country. they may even lose the congress with these two. with a field of at least seven legitimate candidates, dems picked the only two that will lose. soo, they lose the nation but vote their ideals.yea for them. I needed healthcare, i needed bankruptcy reform of bush's bankruptcy reform, i needed relief from crushing gas prices,i needed protection from multinational corporations that have pillaged the American middle class, i needed my two nephews out of iraq yesterday..... but at least the president will not be gw bush any longer and that is some comfort....millions of democrats will switch affliations if obama is the nominee. the latest polls show up to 30% that will not pull the lever for him. republicans know this... too bad the dems didn't.

Obama hits McCain on economics

Who do you seriously think will do a better job at handling our $12 trillion economy?
