What happened to listening to the american public then? Letting all the other states vote?

Obama is playing by the rules that the DNC established before the primary season. That included not including Florida and Michigan. It wasn't him making up the rules, those were the rules that were given to him. You can't just change up the rules when you are 3/4 of the way through the race. The DNC should have known that if you say you are not going to seat the delegates of Michigan and Florida, then those people would not get a vote. Its not like they failed to realize that idea when they 1st started the primary season.

Bill: End race? The district went solidly for Mr. Obama in the primary, and there’s a question over whether Mrs. Clinton will reach the 15 percent threshold needed to receive delegates.

The committee meets Thursday night to deal with minor challenges. The rest will be handled on Saturday, the day of the county conventions.

On a conference call Wednesday, Clinton campaign officials said they would not try to influence the county conventions with mass challenges before the credentials committee [...]

"Apparently the promise that the Clinton campaign made less than 24 hours ago not to challenge the seating of delegates at Saturday's district conventions was just another made-up story," [Obama spokesperson Josh] Earnest said. "The Clinton campaign's politically-motivated outrage over disenfranchising voters apparently doesn't extend to the 1.1 million Texans who participated in the precinct conventions earlier this month."

Bill: End race? (Just my own opinion on that...)

On the issue of caucuses, I would like to know how Bill Clinton fared in primaries vs caucuses in 92 and if he voiced the same opinion back then. I have absolutely no idea on that, but I would be very surprised if he wasn't doing quite well in caucuses as an insurgent, non-establishment candidate himself.

I also read Chuck Todd's article about it not being time for Clinton to get out and I do agree, with one caveat. If she is campaigning for why she should win (ie, her positive reasons for being a better candidate, with better ideas, better skills, etc), I'm happy to see this continue. That's the stuff that makes Dems proud. It's only when the campaigning becomes self-destructive to Dems, as evidenced by the mud-slinging from both sides, that I have a problem with this continuing. Yes, I am now for Obama (he wasn't my first choice), but I want to win in November more. When the campaigns are so dirty that it diminishes our chances and divides the party, then I want it to stop. Seems like that choice is up to the two campaigns and if they can keep it clean, I think the supers will keep sitting out through at least North Carolina and Indiana.

Bill: End race? Yes politics is a dirty business and bring on the republicains. But shooting the soldiers on your side of the line, so at the end of the battle you get the medal is cowardily. I respected Clinton before she went negative!!!
And as far as electability, get real, Clintons are the one's turning off voters with there negativity, and who has Hillary brought into this, it seems her base is mostily life long Dems, if Obama wasn't in this race do you think these younger people, and Independents would be involved, I don't. And as far as Repubs voting I think its great that some Repubs would vote for Obama, unlike the ones that are voting for Hillary just to cause trouble.
So yes I think Hillary should get out, not because I'm worried she will catch up but because the only way she can win is to bring Obama down, and that will cause all the independent to go to McCain, and all the new young voters to stay home, giving the election to McCain.

Bill: End race? They understand the game and play it masterfully. Don't think for a minute that thay can't read the writing on the wall. If an everyday political junkie, as many of us are on this blog, can see it then surely Bill, Hill etc. can see it. Their current strategy has some very distinct and legitamate goals.

1) Even when they DO drop out they will simply "Suspend" their campaign. Just pragmatism, a "Just in Case" Obama were to implode. Fair enough. Just ask Huckabee about this theory.

2) "What's in it for them" theme. Just like many say about the SD's the Clintons are no different. What can they get for dropping out at the right time(VP slot, Majority leader, High profile position w/ Heath Care Reform, ambassadorship for Bill etc.)

3) Make all possible(although erroneous)attacks on Obama OLD news (Wright issue, Muslim issue "As far as I know", Patriotism) Better now than in October when people don't have time to see through the BS. Also, as a Dem., she can back off if things are too damaging where the Repubs are relentless. Also it shows Repubs that certain lines of attack will blow up in their faces, thus getting many things out of the way.

4) "No such thing as bad publicity" theme. The news organizations are doing most of the advertising and getting Democratic Messages out therre for them for free. Yes, the Hillary campaign has faught dirty, but that will subside now that it has had the desired effect, see reason 3 above. Another debate or two(2 hour, FREE, infomercials) will give Obama a little more practice for his debates with McCain, He's already come a long way.

5) DOWN TICKET!! This one is huge and can't be overstated. Hill/Bill know Barack opens up some previously unattainable Senate/House seats. Think Kansas(Hagels seat), Colorado, New Mexico. See reason 4 for how they are helping.

These Polls that show 20% or whatever will vote for McCain if a voters desired Candidate is NOT the Nominee show how this strategy WILL(yes, WILL) work. Clinton's supporters are Hard Core Supporters (As are Obama's) when the right time comes she will endorse Barack and plead w/ her supporters to support him and use that opportunity to trash the effects that McCain will have on this country(the war, Supreme Court Justices especially given the opportunity of a Dem. Pres. and Dem. Senate Majority) This will ring true with most.

I may be wrong, but this Cynic, has been shown the way of hope. I know I'm not the only one.

Good luck to the Dem's!! The country and the world need their leadership.

Best to all,
chris
Bill: End race?
