First thoughts: Petraeus-Crocker, Rd. 2

Throughout this whole primary season, I don’t think Hillary or Team Clinton has seen the football since the kickoff. She is going from foolish, to embarrassing, to total flameout. All the gaffes, moving the goal posts, and most prominently the lies have come home to haunt her. Any yet half the Democrats in PA appear to be on the verge of voting for her. As an Obama supporter, I can accept those people voting for her out of protest to Obama or that they don’t like him or his race. I find it difficult to comprehend what any Hillary supporter sees in her to want to place a vote for her if it is not out of protest to Obama. What do you see in her that we don’t? Are we dense? Or are you dumbfounded by perceived strengths, and a longing for the old days of Bill? Are women voting for her just because of her gender?

I have mentioned before that she seems to be made of Teflon. I am happy to see some of these recent fiascos start to stick. I cheer when these recent failings take root. I get upset the more I read and hear reports of her backstabbing attempts with super delegates; especially using the Rev Wright issue to pry away votes. The Bosnia lie was stupid on her part. The Canadian NAFTA pre-Ohio rants, and her role with NAFTA all along, points to her weakness of character. Mark Penn…enough said. Now she is bellowing that she was against the Iraq war before Obama since his time in the U.S. Senate started. This in light of the documented fact he publicly was against the war as a Senator one month before she mentioned anything in the Senate.

I hope she Google’s the term back bencher. She will be an outcast in the Senate, and I see no chance of her being successful for a run in 2012. I will also cheer to see the windbags Rendell & Murtha go down in flames after Obama secures the nomination and wins the Presidency.

I think it is wrong of you to attribute Senator Clinton's credibility problem entirely to her husband's administration. Watch for Obama to look Presidential during these hearings. This morning on the Today Show he stated that he'll be looking for some answers, such as, "What do they define as "success"? Then they tell us we can't pull out troops because the fighting has decreased. So WHEN can we begin to pull out our troops?" Here we go again.

FR compares Obama's surge in the polls with the lead up to Ohio and Texas. Over the last weekend before those primaries, Clinton re-surged on the basis of the "kitchen sink" attacks -- notably the Nafta/Canada snafu and the the three am ad.

Will she be able to pull a similar re-surge in PA? With all the negatives occurring in her campaign recently, I have my doubts. Obama may well keep the margin very close in PA or even win it!

If Penn was involved on a conference call yesterday, will continue to conduct polling, and is preparing Hillary for the debate, then he has not left the campaign. He is an active member. What - are we stupid? The norm for Hillary is to say one thing (what we want to hear) and simultaneously do another (what she wants to do). Remember NAFTA: It only looked like Hillary supported Bill with her appearances and hostess duties, but in her heart she was really against it. And, even though she signed off on authorizing Iraq, she didn't know Bush would actually proceed.

If Penn is working with the Clintons today, he is not gone. End of discussion. Anything else is spin and / or an outright lie. Time has proved that with Hillary it is safest to first assume she is lying when she says anything.

I guess I have now joined the vast majority that find her dishonest and untrustworthy. I now even question what Bill and her owe to the people that have given them over $50 million for his speaking and the over $15 million (plus a few models for Bill) from Ron Burkle. I don't think Burkle is giving Bill that kind of money out of the kindness of his heart. What is the payback?

I didn't think anyone was saying Clinton lied about the WHOLE health care story. Obviously, she didn't. The woman DID exist, and she DID die. However, it had nothing to do with her health care coverage, which was the point of Clinton's telling- "fixing health care".

I mean, of course she didn't make up the whole story. Are we really going to start gauging Hillary by how much of the truth she's telling? She WAS in Bosnia, she just wasn't being shot at! Her health care story WAS partly true, it just had nothing to do with health insurance! If that's the approach we're going to start taking, that speaks a ton about the sad state of affairs over at Camp Clinton.

Regarding Dan Abrams' interview last night with Phil Donahue. It looks like it's going to be a powerful movie.

I'm glad someone is finally taking on Congress for the role they played. They are the people I blame for what has transpired in Iraq. Imagine - an election was coming up in 2002 and it took too much courage to vote AGAINST the invasion.

When all they had to do was their due diligence and would have seen the timing was wrong. The inspectors obviously had much more work to do. It was all there if anyone bothered doing their homework.

In Ohio, Clinton got some quick slams in including the Canada NAFTA cheap shot Don't think the same dynamics will play this time. OTOH in Ohio you didn't have the Governor running around saying that white voters there won't vote "aren't ready" to vote for a Black person. So you could see other factors in play in Penn. Obama is still the underdog there. For some UNKNOWN reason, blue collar workers put their face in Clinton, but remember eight years ago they put their faith in Bush. We get what we get.

IN terms of the hospital story, hmmm, Clinton herself must have thought she was guilty. Did her campaign defend the story when it was originally challenged. Uh, no. They admitted it hadn't been vetted yet they made it (she made it) an integral part of her speech!

I do support Dodd's newborn screening bill. It will save families much anguish and it also is smart in terms of prevention dollars versus treatment dollars.

With all due respect sir, you need to do a little more homework. Is Pakistan a "workable Democracy"? What the Bush administration has supported in the region are "compliant dictatorships". While Senator McCain was expining how things are back to normal in Iraq, his speech was interupted by breaking news that there had been mortar fire on the Green Zone, 3 more Americans killed.

Presume much? That's what I've gotten out of Democrats lately, and their legions of blind voters. Their beliefs about Iraq, and the Bush Admin, and the Military all stem out of the presumption that republicans somehow knew they were wrong and made the wrong decision, as if "right" and "wrong" are clearly defined and do lay in the eye of the beholder. Every person/group tries to make the best possible choice they can at any given time, based upon their situation. Unfortunately, if the consequences turn out to be less than desireable, its then all too easy for others to point fingers. There's a reason why they say hindsight is 20/20. Its not fair to criticize others for past decisions based on the knowledge you know now, and that is really what the Democrates and their voters are doing to Bush, his Admin, the Military, the Republicans, and ultimately America. Its amazing how spiteful, critical, and demonizing Democrats are today.

Don't be get too comfy though. The attention right now is all on the Democrats due to their primaries. But come November, the silent majority will rise again, and put all of the loudmouth, know-it-all, blame-America-first liberals in their place. The irony here is that the majority of these States that Obama and Hillary are fiercly battling each other in simply go to Republicans in November anyway.

Agree with you on tone and content.

However, it is still galling to think of the vast influence peddling of Bill Clinton and the whole lack of transparency on the 'really big money'---Foundation and Library donors.

Also, I've not viewed the tax returns, but if 90% of the Clintons' 'charity' went to their own foundation, just exactly how much of a pittance did she contribute to her own church? I hate to even pose the question and would not but for her sanctimonious ramblings about 'I'd leave the church'. This type of examination shows that, basically, it is quite unfair to try to examine Obama's "American-ness" by scrutinizing his faith---unless we want to do so with all the candidates. (And, I, for one, don't.)

I sounds to me as though the media has a baggage problem with regard to the Clinton Administration. It doesn't do much for their credibility when they don't vet a story properly in their zeal to crowbar facts into a certain narrative.

So Clinton's 18 point lead in Pennsylvania is down to just 6 points. Disastrous news for the Clinton campaign. She needed to win this state by a large margin to have any realistic chance. It would be nothing short of embarrassing for her if she actualy loses this state. It seems that her only winning move is to withdraw from the race and let the Democrats focus on November.

Regarding Senator Clinton's version of the sniper fire in Bosnia...
She had her ONLY CHILD with her. She had to know that she and Chelsea were absolutely safe, or she would have left Chelsea home. So, she is either an outright liar, or the world's worst mother, either of which should call into question her character and judgement.
Sad thing is, though, I'll campaign for her and vote for her if she is the Democratic nominee because our country cannot afford four more years of Republican incompetence.

American soldiers are being killed daily in Iraq. The war is costing us over $100 Billion a year; money we have to borrow. How is this a military victory?
Maliki was chased out of Basra and the cease fire agreement was brokered by the Iranians. A large majority of Iraqi citizens wants the US out of their country. How is this a political victory? We had to plead with the Turks to leave northern Iraq. How is this any kind of victory? Please define what you mean by victory.

You say "will be" not "is." When will this workable democracy come about? Next month? Next year? Next decade? Next Century?

KAY, What you say is true: "That is politics!!" It's also true that the person "in charge" at the time gets credit or blame for what happens during their term in office. It may be true that Bush Sr set this thing up for Clinton (I don't happen to believe that), but it happened during Clinton's term in office, so he gets credit.

What I find ironic is that at the end of Bush Sr's term it was "It's the economy, stupid" After Clinton's term, there were millions in surplus, now after Bush's term, were right back to "It's the economy, stupid"

I think that's more than a coincidence
