From the date of the speech and his previous involvement with FAIR Tax there shouldn't be any surprise if he's going on a major offensive for FAIR Tax, probably hoping to jumpstart another presidential bid. maybe you misunderstand separation of church and state. simply put, its original intention was to protect the church from the state, not the other way around. but you're right, let's just forget about the reasons for our forefathers leaving england and coming to the new world, the same reasons that clause was put in the constitution in the first place.
