China will be the next country America goes to war with. Dwindling resources, and China's unprecedented attempt to gain access to America's Military secrets will start a new "Cold War" that will make the previous one look like a training excersize.

By boycotting the Olympics, America would be able to send a stong message to China. Although they are a financial power-house, China's policy regarding Tibet and their backing of Darfur's government are just the tip of the iceberg on how they opperate.

The Democrats have to get off the symbolism jag they've been on for decades now. Just when have Clinton, Obama, or Pelosi gave a rats-behind about Tibet in the last 5 years? Not a beep, not a word. Now all of sudden, Pres. Bush has to do what Clinton, Obama, Pelosi say he should do. Take a hike Dems. Go lead a protest somewhere and leave the real work to the Republicans.

Most of us don't care if Bush goes to the opening ceremonies or not. For the most part he is irrelevent in our world. The Office of the President, can however, lend prestige to the event and that is most what the Chinese want. I dont't think it matters to them if the holder is GWB.

The athelets deserve our support, they have worked long and hard to be there. Politics has place no in the Olympics. Yes, the Chinese have a miserable record on Human Rights, and if anyone, HRC, Nancy Pelosi want to bring attention to it this is not the way to go. We owe the company store and then some to the Chinese, for that we need to start looking to how that can be corrected.

I think that due to the separation of powers in our form of Govenment that it is inappropriate for Speaker Palosi to try to dictate whether or not the president should attend the opening ceramonies of the olympic games. Her job is to guide the House not the president.

Didn't "W" tell Obama that the office of president wasn't to validate a person or country that was deemed bad? He further implied that sitting or meeting with terrorist nation’s leaders and other bad dudes, sent a wrong signal to the world. Bush obviously doesn't practice what he preaches. But on the other hand, the Olympics’ is supposed to be about sport competition isn’t it? Tough call for "W" to make, no one will be totally happy.

Wake up politicians, learn a bit of history of Tibet before making your accusations. Tibet was under the most horrible slavery rule by the Dalai Lama when he was there. Tibetans in Tibet today has more freedom than the Dalai Lama had ever allowed when he was the ruler.
