The only solution for democrats is to tax people higher and just make people as miserable as possible. That has always been the liberal way of dealing with problems. John McCain is not the brightest bulb in the socket when it comes to economics, but at least he will let people keep their money. Obama and The Clinton's think that raising people's taxes and let them feel as miserable as they can is not the answer. I cannot figure out how The Clinton's had so much earmark money given to New YorkState and still they cannot transform them into jobs. Once again, the Clinton's lie about the fact that they can make jobs appear magically when they have not even done so in New York state.

So Clinton is going for the kill over Obama's "bitter" remark, eh? This could come back to haunt her as most people I've talked to think it's just another feeble attempt on her part. Most people I've talked to say, yes, they ARE bitter over gas prices and they don't think anyone in politics is listening to them; afterall 80% of the people are AGAINST the Iraq war and yet we're told over and over again that the "surge" is working and we will probably have to be there for the next decade. It will be intersting to see how PA goes; from the sounds of it, they won't be voting on the "bitter" issue, For most of them it's purly black and white.

Regarding the Quinnipiac poll: is it possible, just possible, that this entire story has been built on the media ELITE and Senator Clinton condescendingly commanding small town voters how they must think and that they must be outraged? The AP ran an enlightening story yesterday based on interviews it did across Pennsylvania. Guess what? Pennsylvanians are a whole lot more level-headed than the junior Senator from New York. She's outraged, OUTRAGED. They look at Obama's comments, understand them in context and say, "yes, he could have spoken better. and yes, we aren't particularly excited about a lot of our jobs being shipped overseas."

Friday, 4/11 (nearly a whole week later): the press picks up on them.

4/11-now: Hillary slams Barack daily on his words.

Saturday, 4/12: "I am not bitter" stickers are distributed by the Clinton campaign

Monday, 4/14: Clinton comes out with a TV ad.

So, maybe it isn't unreasonable to believe that the Clinton camp can create a tv ad in a weekend. But, am I to believe that there is an overnight sticker press and distributer? Give me a break!

Clinton was sitting on these remarks, prepping the elaborate response, and then feigning fury in order to rile up the Penns. THAT is what I call politics as usual. THAT is what I call condescension. THAT is why Americans are bitter.

We are bitter because politicians like Hillary only pretend to care when it's politically convenient. I'm sure she cares more about her $800,000 for the Columbian trade deal than about steel workers. I'm sure she cares more about her wink-wink-nod-nod to Canada and all that goes with it than about factory workers. I'm sure she cares more about her lobbyist and PAC's interests than about the average duck-hunter or Christian's dinner table.

I'm sure she cares more about herself than us.

My feeling is that if the comments were to hurt him it would have been reflected in this new poll. These are the type of comments that could elicit an instant kneejerk negative reaction. In terms of "Going for the kill", good observation but I have a question for you. Since when has Clinton listened to the superdelegates? They have been telling her to tone it down for how many weeks...what makes you think they will listen after PA no matter what the result.

And thanks for pointing out that they are truly in their own league with their negative campaigning. It appears to me that this is a watershed moment in American politics. Do you want to see more of this (horrific campaigning) VOTE CLINTON. Are you repulsed by this kind of campaigning DON'T VOTE FOR CLINTON. It seems to me at this point that a vote for her just sends the message that you find her way of campaigning acceptable. No ends justify these means (and its not even that her "end" is that good).

Obviously Hillary (and the ignorant elitist media) jumped the ship a bit on the "bitter" comment. Why Hillary (and the ignorant elitist media) felt like THEY have some deep connection with small-town voters in PA is beyond me, seeing as how the talking heads on the news are wearing suits more expensive than most of these small-town folks cars, and seeing as how Hillary Clinton has been followed by secret service for the past twenty years, she obviously has no idea. She went for the political gotcha-moment, and was too busy basking in her own self-indulgent aura to realize, you know what, a lot of small town folks really ARE bitter. They're crazy mad and crazy bitter about the government and about tactical politicians. That's what Obama was saying, these small town folks aren't stupid. They understood it. But Hillary didn't. Edwards (whom I supported) has had ample opportunities to endorse Clinton and he hasn't. Not saying he won't. But I find its interesting that he hasn't already.

You forgot #4: the media tries to downplay McCain's disturbing statements and actions as quickly as they can. If Obama had accused Shiite Iran of training Sunni Al Qaeda, the media would have gone into a feeding frenzy for weeks. They'd be opining endlessly about how this indicated that Obama was too inexperienced to be trusted with foreign policy.

But since all the clever pundits "know" that McCain's foreign policy expertise is "beyond question" as one of them put it on CNN, McCain's disturbing ignorance was quickly swept under the carpet. The corporate media is trying to saddle the country with a "foreign policy expert" McCain who doesn't know anything about foreigners except which ones he wants to bomb. #4 is definitely the best thing McCain has got going for him.

Especially since Michigan's, and Florida's Democratic voters are being pre-empted and excluded from the nominating process by a technicality created, in part, by the G.O.P.
If one candidate or the other doesn't have the necessary 2025 delegates, then the rules call for a brokered convention. It would be riviting, political theater, and it would show the nation that Democrats can take care of their problems, their conflicts and their controversies in a fair, and reasonable manner.

I know some folks in small town Pennsylvania. They're not only bitter... they're disgusted, outraged, upset, bothered, alienated and repulsed by oppression, pollution, corporate rip-offs, out of touch politicians. Did either Ms. Clinton or Mr. McCain work as a community organizing with poor people in the South Side of Chicago? I encourage community organizers to help bring millions of young people and working people to the polls -- don't get bitter, get ORGANIZED.
