If Obama is unelectable, then what does it say about Hillary that he's beating her? That's like consistently scoring lower on a math test then the guy sitting next to you, and then turning around and calling him stupid. It's bass-ackwards and makes no sense. It seems the media wants to make it happen for Hillary. The underlying meaning of this article is let's influence the public's pereceptions. Let's make it seem feasible and not a stretch or theft for Hillary the person with the lesser delegates, lower total of delegates and superdelegates, and the lower number of the two in the popular vote (since Michigan and Florida aren't counted or possible to inclue). I'm wondering if the media's own bias isn't fueling this. I feel as as you're working for Hillary. The media should stick to news. This kind of article and the ones assimilated within it sicken me. They're corrosive and do no good. No matter how it's spun, the facts are clear. Barack is winning. Barack will win the nomination. The final fact is the DNC has absolutely no intention of overlooking those facts on spurious arguments that Hillary can win in the general election and Obama can't. The primary determines the candidate, not the possible general election outcome. You can't decide to look at which states are better states. It's about winning more states and delegagtes period, not this Hillary logic of the states I won matter more in the general election. What that means is Hillary and the DNC if it followed that logic would be disenfrachising and disrespectful of numerous stgates. While Hillary doesn't mind doing that, the DNC knows more is at stake than this egomaniac's quest for power. The truth, eventhough few seem interested in it, is that BARACK OBAMA, not Hillary, reinvigorated the party -- those legions of people registering to vote are Obama enthusiasts. IF the DNC and superdelegates decide to follow Hillary's argument that she's more electable and deny Obama, the DNC will be irreperably damaged for decades. Now is Hillary worth that? I don't think so. We've witnessed Bush with the help of the Supreme Court finagle his way into office. Enough is enough. Hillary's so-called indomitable will and specious argument that she is a tough figher aren't entitlements. And the media is really help escalate this nonsense for its own purposes one of which is nothing else to report -- no news -- so instead endless, irresponsible conjecture. FirstRead regularly overlooks anything I write, yet certain people regularly have multiple posts for any given article -- I'm losing my faith in the electoral process and the media. Thanks for showing me that a free-America and a free press are really shams.

The delegate fight: The push for supers

I'd love to see her try to win a general election without African American's and young voters,
******
Linda in Boston: she won PA without them! Munoz delayed setting a trial date back in February, but is scheduled to set a trial date this Friday.
Judge Munoz ruled back in February that Paul's legal team can begin seeking depositions from a host of big names – including Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, along with an A-list of Hollywood celebrities that allegedly were witnesses to an effort by the Clintons and top Democratic leaders to extract millions of dollars from Paul in illegal donations and then cover it up. Discovery in the trial is expected to start in May. The Clintons have tried to dismiss the case, but the California Supreme Court, in 2004, upheld a lower-court decision to deny the motion.
The complaint says Bill Clinton promised to promote Paul's Internet entertainment company, Stan Lee Media, in exchange for stock, cash options and massive contributions to his wife's 2000 Senate campaign. Paul contends he was directed by the Clintons and Democratic Party leaders to produce, pay for and then join them in lying about footing the bill for an August 2000 Hollywood gala and fundraiser.
The Clintons' legal counsel has denied the former president made any deal with Paul. But Paul's attorney Colette Wilson has stated there are witnesses who say it was common knowledge at Stan Lee Media that Bill Clinton was preparing to be a rainmaker for the company after he left office.
Paul claims former Vice President Al Gore, former Democratic Party chairman Ed Rendell and Clinton presidential campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe also are among the people who can confirm Paul engaged in the deal.
The complaint also asserts that Senator Clinton filed four false reports to the FEC of Paul's donations in an attempt to distance herself from him after a Washington Post story days after the August 2000 fundraiser reported his past felony convictions. Clinton then returned a check for $2,000, insisting it was the only money she had taken from Paul. But one month later, she demanded another $100,000, to be hidden in a state committee using untraceable securities.
Senator Clinton was dismissed from the case as a defendant, but Munoz already has made it clear he won't accept any attempts to block Senator Clinton from serving as a material witness. The judge told Clinton's lawyer David Kendall: "Well, any opposition is probably going to be dead on arrival, if that will – if you understand what I'm saying, Mr. Kendall."
DOJ Prosecutor Dan Schwaber told a jury in May, 2005 at the trial of Hillary’s finance director David Rosen, that it was a crime “to deny the public’s right to know that Peter Paul personally gave more than $1.2 million to Hillary’s national campaign”.
Paul has outlined the entire case in a one hour documentary entitled, Hillary Uncensored, Banned by the Media.
Although Paul is a three time convicted felon, he has passed a lie detector's test in answering questions as to whether there was an agreement made for Stan Lee Media to hire Bill Clinton once he left the White House. Paul also claims he has several hours of home video of Senator Clinton, and states, "her own words will indict her".
How much longer will the media continue to cover-up this case for Senator Clinton and deny the voters right to know about this trial?
If Barack Obama or the media doesn't begin to ask questions about the upcoming Peter Paul trial, and the four false FEC reports that were filed, John McCain and the GOP will.
The delegate fight: The push for supers

Clinton supporters need to realize that the candidate they are backing is the one who is "unelectable", especially after the dirty campaign and the scheming the country has witnessed for the past couple of months. The Clintons are the ones who need to be obliterated by every sane thinking America who can vote.

The delegate fight: The push for supers

If you lie loud enough- people start to believ it. I think this is what the clintons are trying to do. Michigan and Florida were agreed upon prior to the primaries. It is completely unfair to try to change this midgame. What would the clintons say if the tables were turned and Obama tried to include FL and MI to take the lead? The clintons were probably the most investigated administration in history- remember Ken Starr? Americans spent millions. This would happen again w/ hillary as president. Republicans will be united and nothing will get done. Polls show 90% of republicans will vote for McCain if the nominee is Hillary. She cannot win without some republicans and independents. Obama can do this. I want a new washington with a vision on unity and working together. Forget the partisan politics of the last 15+ years. Obama is the way to change.

The delegate fight: The push for supers

Enough of your "fuzzy math," Hillary.

Get thee to a nunnery!

The delegate fight: The push for supers

Hillary knows she can't win. The only reason she's staying in this race is to destroy Obama. This way McCain wins and she gets to run again in 2012. It's the ultimate act of selfishness on her part. It is incredible to me when i think of how i viewed the Clintons 2 years ago vs. how i view the Clinton's today.

There was a time when Bill Clinton was literally my idol and i thought Hillary was a good Senator. This campaign has really opened my eyes.

The delegate fight: The push for supers

Reality check for Clinton supporters:
The superdelegates would be very foolish to unfairly steal the nomination for Hillary. It won't happen for a very simple reason. The reason can be found in the level of grassroots financial support Obama has received. Obama has received an unprecedented amount of financial backing from grassroots America. This is what scares Republicans the most. Not the amount of money; Romney could probably match that through his own fortune. No, it is what this money represents, and the diverse sources it comes from. This widespread level of support cannot be duplicated by any candidate in this campaign.
Despite all of the histrionic rantings by Clinton and her supporters, the fact remains that outside of her special interest lobbyists and fat cats, she can't keep her campaign in the black. She does not have widespread support financially. She purchases her continued candidacy by selling her support to nefarious interests like Colombia, China, UAE, and Dubai; using the money for divisive mean spirited fear mongering gutter politics. Unfortunately, she never pays her bills; not even for health care for her OWN campaign workers.
Faced with her lack of integrity, lack of honesty, inability to manage her own campaign and her race-baiting husband (not to mention her greater than 50% negatives), how can anyone in their right mind support such a flawed candidate? Her lack of financial support throughout only validates the American voters disdain for her campaign. Like her campaign, her ideas and politics are totally bankrupt.
Any superdelegate that votes for her in the face of so much vitriol and ineptitude deserves not only to lose the Presidency but their own individual election as well.

The delegate fight: The push for supers

Obama too a fighter
Regarding Hillary's positioning as a fighter, please remember that as a woman, this positioning helps offset the stereotype that a woman would not be strong enough to be president. My compliments to her as I believe that except for a small minority of voters no one would consider this to be one of her weaknesses.
Obama, on the other hand has very different stereotypes to deal with. As a man (let alone a black man) he is still expected to be gracious to a woman. He also runs against the belief (especially with women over 55) that once again, a man is jumping over a qualified woman and taking a job that otherwise would have been hers. Thankfully Barack has already won the contest by any reasonable measure so he should not have to “fight” or “punch” back as so many of the pundints and even his supporters have called for.
This will not be an issue when Barack runs against John McCain and I believe strongly that when the race for the democratic nomination is finally over, John McCain will not know what hit him.
The delegate fight: The push for supers

Howard Dean should have come out strongly the first time the Clinton campaign raised this nonsense and said, the rules were clear, the penalty for breaking those rules was clear, but the elected leaders in MI and FL knowing full well the consequences chose to flaunt the rules. All democratic candidates at the time the penalty was imposed agreed not to campaign in these states and agreed that the results would not count. We will not revisit the penalty and the delegations will not be seated. Any MI or FL resident who has a problem with that should take it up with their local leaders. Had he done that, we would not continue to hear these same inane arguments from a campaign so convinced that Senator Clinton's coronation was inevitable that it had no plan to win after Super Tuesday.

The fact that Dean has been spineless on this "issue" typifies the weakness that causes Republicans to laugh at the Democratic Party.

The delegate fight: The push for supers

Mr. Todd, Please address the continued playing of the attack ads.
