I just don't find the Day One argument compelling for Clinton...she has not shown AT ALL by her many campaign mistakes and personal character flaws that she is ready to do anything on Day One, other than to do nasty negative politicking and drive many of us away.

I am one of many women for Obama so I don't understand her sway with woman (and I truly don't) other than woman wanting to see a woman in the White House. I think her candidacy has been a very poor rolemodel one for women. There are many other women I'd love to see in the White House in the not-to-distant future. But I don't vote on womanhood, I vote for the best candidate irrespective of identity politics.

I have said it many times, Edwards has had ample opportunities to endorse. He has stayed silent. Only he knows why. If he chooses to endorse, I can respect that. But I'm not holding my breath. Many of his campaign staffers, supporters, and fundraisers are not pulling for Obama. Hey, we'll take it. I'd love to see him endorse Obama, don't get me wrong...but its not anything I lose any sleep over.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again... Sen. Obama has won more states, more delegates and more popular votes. If the nomination is taken away from Obama it's going to be hell to pay. With that being said, it doesn't matter how many "superdelegates" endorse Hillary, Obama will still win. Hillary and Bill Clinton have all but admitted to their divisive tactics all based on race by targeting the blue collar group exclusively in North Carolina. The Clinton's have no intentions to honor any working class family, look no further than NAFTA (signed by Clinton) and the Columbian free trade agreement (Columbian paid Clinton 800,000.00 to promote it). Dont tell me Hillary is against her husband. Look at the courting she did in California to Hispanics, she has now done a 360 and doesn't even mention them in her health care or labor issues anymore. She flat out used them.

Hillary Clinton in during the 1960's worked on communist issues and socialist issues she was deep into this. The republicans are going to sink her....Obama refuses to bring these things into the campaign because he takes much higher ground than the Clinton's do. I am another one dissapointed in Edwards silence. I was a fervent supporter of his, but cannot seem to see his "power to the people" stance flying with Hillary's "lobbyists are my friends" tactics. I think this says it all--during the news conference where Mike Easley announced is support of Hillary Clinton, Hillary called the endorsement "politically very meaningful". When Hillary talks it up like that, the translation is it doesn't mean much. Easley is not that popular anymore among most N.C. Democrats, especially the grass roots organizations.

rita's right - it's a culture war with the Clintons now and this is highly inappropriate. We're electing a president, not a social worker. Their relationship with the black community is now so tattered, the idea of her giving a race speech is ridiculous - she'd be laughed out of the room.

Another commenter was right that she has no incentive to ease race relations - her whole strategy is based on pitting the races against each other. Exhibit A: Two of her supporters "invited" Rev. Wright to speak at the Nat'l Press Club! She WANTS the races to keep bickering. What a lovely foundation to build a presidency on!

As for Easley, he's no Rendell ... no national presence and actually the white and older Dems in NC are not solidly behind him - many are p'd off cuz he took their retirement plans away.

Edwards ...... had better just get his head screwed on right and endorse Obama like he knows he should. He has much more in common w/him ideologically than Hillary, and he should also know that he could help end this tiresome charade of a primary and get our party back in order.
