Wright is getting his press advice from a Clinton supporter, Barbara Reynolds. It's unfortunate that McNBC doesn't see the need to mention who made arrangements for Wright at the Press Club.

This is a not so subtle attempt to put a wedge between Obama and the white community and the black community at the same time and perfectly timed for the upcoming primaries. I mention the possibility of a wedge with the black community because if Obama handles it badly it has that potential.

These next elections can't happen soon enough. I'm sick of the campaign by Democrats against Democrats. I'm ready for focus on McCain.

This is obvious the white media that does not understand and chooses not to understand the traditions of the black church. I will admit not all black churches are not the same(some are enthusiastic and some are quiet) but there are traditions that stemmed back from slavery/Africa.

I don't know of any black church that teaches hate. If you love Jesus how can you hate?

This is sad. Rev Wright is not running for president. Also, Rev Hagee is not runing for president either.

Why post that? Why would Obama be running for president if he didn't care about this country? Heck, I'm Catholic, and go to church, but disagree with most of the social teachings of my church through my priest...I'm pro choice and pro gay rights...yet my church isn't either one, does that mean I'm lying about where I stand on those issues? The woman who organized this "Press" event is one of Wrights parisioners AND an ardent HILLARY SUPPORTER!! The Obama camp have not been in touch with this guy and so could not have had the slightest inkling of what his oponent was hatching. I know: This is speculation; I'm sure any tracks were covered quite well, having a quality of "plausible deniability". But doesn't it strike you as STRANGE when yesterday Hillary for FIRST TIME EVER IN THIS CAMPAIGN went after McCain for his inability to stop the NC republican party from running this add?? And of ALL THINGS, Rev Wright?? The ONE THING they've ADMITTED yapping in the Supers' ears about Obama's electability? This speculation . . . but there an awful lot of smoke coming from the Hillary's side. How interesting, now I haven't read the full text of all the editorials you cite...nor have I seen much of Wright talking, but I do have to say I agree with each of the commentators (at least the snippets you highlight)...that's gotta be a first!

I tend to think that for some reason he's angry at the way he's been covered in those initial loops (which I kind of understand), that he's angry at the attention Obama's getting (perhaps he feels eclipsed by him, hey it happens!), and that he's not doing himself any favors. I just think that whatever good message he had/has, its being totally obscured by his big fat ego. Its definitely a shame for Wright, we'll see if its a shame for Obama.

I am still as much of a supporter for Obama as I ever was...I always saw him as independent from Wright. We are all shaped by many forces but we should be viewed and judged by the people that we became, not by all of our old associations.

Keep the faith! (the media can keep focusing on Wright, but like when there is coverage on Brittany Spears and now Miley Cyrus, I just flip the channel or turn off the tube, I implore the media to cover something important, like the members of the military sadly killed in Iraq yesterday, we mourn their loss)

Some of the grandparents of the civil rights movement (Sharpton, Jackson, Wright) are so afraid to let go of their victimhood, as they fear it will render them obsolete. Rather than embrace the joy of their successes as the first viable African American candidate for President has the office within arms reach, they want to perpetuate the belief that white America won't accept the black man. What irony that they are hurting the very cause that they've devoted their lives to. The desire to hold onto the baton, rather than pass it to the next generation, could hurt our country.

The salvation for all of this is that there are those who are more than ready to pass the baton- Rep. Clyburn, John Lewis. And an even better sign that we will get past this is the millions of Americans, both black and white who come from a new generation and embrace the glorious possibility that we can move beyond race. This generation has awakened during this election cycle, and they will be instrumental in allowing us to move forward.

Alexrod's brilliance has been to "hide" Obama, and keep him safe, but as I said before the genie is out of the bottle and the more mainstream media are taking a second look.

Obama always looks like a victim, it's been his speciality, but it's not working for him anymore. Obama's real problem is he can't distance himself, from himself. He is stuck with Rev Wright, like a malignant cancer on his back, that he carries with him everywhere he goes now.... And it is killing him. Obama had a chance to "cut it out" early on, while the media was still in his tank.....

But things have changed.... the media is taking a more harsh view of Obama. And now and the cancer has matastized and has spread, very hard to cure.... because the patient and the cancer become one, and one can't be killed without killing the other.

Obama is in a very tough spot, but hey, sometimes people beat the "stuff" but mostly they don't.

The corporate media is keeping Rev. Wright alive, that is all. I just wish the media would go back in history and see that what he says is true. I quit watching CNN, MSNBC, never did watch Fix Noise, and tried to get the new from the web, and look, same old, same old. My kids are dying, living in filth in barracks, not having enough water and food. and all that you can talk about is Rev. Wright! I sure wish we had somebody who was allowed to report the news.

B Griffin: He has everything to do with Obama because Obama himself proclaimed Wright his spiritual advisor, dedicated his book to him, helped shape his views. He has a 20 yr close, close mentoring relationship with Wright. You need to be asking yourself why Obama "hid" Wright from you for over a year. You need to ask yourself why he LIED to you saying he had no knowledge of Wright's views and then admitting that he did. What better fact to demonstrate he knew when he disinvited Wright to speak at his announcement and then HID Wright in the basement? It has to do with Obama's lack of honesty about their relationship and his lack of judgement in associating with radicals like Wright and other shady characters in his life.

The Media and the Republican Party thought it was good fun to keep running those "snippets" over and over and over again to make Rev. Wright look unpatriotic in order to cast doubts on Sen. Barack Obama yet is surprised when the good reverend comes back full force to make his dissatisfaction known? If Rev. Wright was white, would this be an issue? What about Rev. Billy Graham and rumblings about his anti-Semitism? The Media needs to monitor itself a bit more closely. You're all lucky he doesn't bring on a lawsuit for defamation of character.
