McCain stepping on the fingers of the people just trying to hang on through their employee/employer health care benefits.

Of CORSE it's "just like Bush's plan", because McShame is a Bush clone. "Give the problem to the rich, give the problem to Big Business, give the problem to Big Healthcare and Big Insurance, they'll solve it." Yeah...we've seen how they've bellied up to the trough and profited from others' misery. If that's his plan, forget it!

Health care in America these days is all about access and usually that's tied to cost and being able to afford the necessary care (and trying to get prevention in, even if you have to pay for it or pay attention to it).

McCain's plan does absolutely nothing to address health insurance affordability. Nor does it address issues of comprehensive coverage (what coverage is truly necessary), quality of care, or consumer knowledge of how to evaluate healthcare plans.

I don't mind taking health care coverage out of the realm of employers...I think many of our problems with health insurance coverage ARE related to the third party payor aspect of it (the person using the service is not the person paying for it) and I have no problem giving more people more "say" over the nature of their coverage.

But we do need some aspect of universality to make sure that all Americans have access to affordable and necessary care. We can't just offer a $5000 tax credit (for families) and expect that all Americans will be covered by it (many spoke up yesterday that that will buy a family about two months of coverage at a time when families have no extra money to spend for the other months of coverage).

Just what planet is John McCain living on...OH it must be the one where everyone has access to their family's corporate jet.

Just try to let him hang Elitist on Obama!! McCain's free ride is over...maybe not on Cindy's jet but at least with us.

Employer-based coverage is NECESSARY if you are ever at risk of being dropped or having your rates increased exponentially.

The problem with individual coverage is that as soon as you need to actually use some of the benefits that you've paid for, the insurance companies don't like you--and will raise your rates quickly (and to the point of it being not feasible to continue it) or outright drop you.

McCain's plan MUST address this. OR he's making a plan that's even worse than what we have now.

How in sync will they be when Mr. McDraft tries to reinstitute the draft? He knows that in order to be a World Saber Rattler he needs a BIG MILITARY and the only way that happens is through a DRAFT with
MEGA $$$$. The all volunteer military will not meet the needs of Mr. McDraft.

The current military has been called on and responded to all we've asked and then some. Our young men and women have given their all for this country but are growing weary being sent back to combat over and over and over again.
