I think Wright has derailed Obama's candidacy for good. It must be so painful for Obama to be betrayed by a so-called man of God. Wright is truly the Judas Iscariot of 2008.

I think the DNC will have to find a way to take the nomination from Obama. He has too many negatives now--his race (for some voters), his inexperience, his gaffes and now a maniacal, hate-filled performance from a religious buffoon. There's no way Obama can win a general election with all those strikes against him.

I don't know if Hillary can win against the Republicans either--she has her own baggage, which the Republicans will surely rummage through in the general election.

I hope the DNC learns from this to vet its potential nominees better BEFORE the primaries start. In hindsight, it may have been better to select Edwards or Richardson as potential candidates rather than Obama and Hillary.

I think its a sorry state of affairs when the media would rather focus on the words of a pastor who is not running for office rather than the words of the candidate. We have young men and women dying daily in wars, yet we are not focusing on that. We have increasing costs for fuel, food, insurance, service - but we're not focusing on that. We have a declining educational system and infrastructures, yet we're not focusing on that. We have a declining economy and rising foreclosures, yet we're not focusing on that. I think the only reason this particular story is gaining traction is because the media will not let it go -- constant replays and rehashes of Rev. Wright's statements, Senator Obama's statements do not address the really pressing needs and concerns of our country.

A. Trinity Church is bigger than Wright, it is a leading Church in Chicago, it does great things for its community, and Wright was not spewing that stuff in church for 20 years. His looped comments were unusual and so, apparently, are his rantings of late. Church-goers have confirmed this, most recently MSNBC's Tamron Hall on the air. He (Wright) wasn't always "this man".

Q. Is he tough enough? Where was his judgment?

He is not Wright, he is a different person, many of us listen to opposing views (as we should) without taking those views on...I want a President who does not immediately bomb another country for what could be a small mistake. I want a President who can show some restraint (judgment) only acting harshly when it is really required. Teddy Roosevelt, walk softly and carry a big stick. He walked softly, yesterday he wielded the big stick.

Those who still question him will never stop questioning him, he can never please them (you can't please all the people all the time)...I don't think he needs to try to please people on this issue anymore. i have heard him speak on numerous occasions and this speech was obviously painful for him.

jeremiah Wright may be crazy and out there, but the fact remains that he lead this Obama to Christ and gave him a spiritual center that he never had.

Whether Wright is a nut or whether he is anti-American is beside the point. Obama said that Wright was his spiritual mentor, with that being said Wright helped him gather his spiritual self, he did not help him develop his patriotism, or his foreign policy, or his politics.

The Wright-Obama relationship is likened to one of a father son relationship. And like any "normal father-son" relationship it will be times when you will look up to, then not agree with and eventually look past your father-son realtionship. Nothing is really wrong with the Rev. Wright. He is just PO'D because Obama refuse to have this evolving self centered, egotistical lunatic give daily blessings to his political team.
