Am I the only Democrat wondering why Hillary-and the talking heads that favor her- continue to insist that the Reagan Democrats have to be returned to the fold, in order for a Democrat to win the general election? If any pollsters are to be believed, independents and even some ex-GOP will more than make up fo r the voters we lose to McCain.

Giving credence to this claim allows those "God, guns and gays" Reagan Democrats (who, lets face it, over lap to a large extent with Dems who say they will not vote for a black man) who have not voted for a Democrat in years, and who will vote for McCain in the general election, to determine who the Democratic nominee will be. Seems to me the party should count those people out, rather than allowing them to pick the nominee.
