Are these radical liberals just losing their minds? Obama did not denounce his racist pastor until Wright stood up at the National Press Club and called Obama a LYING POLITICIAN! Well, that was just it for Obama! Never mind G-d D- -m America, or the government is giving blacks AIDS, but Wright called him a lying politician! We have to believe that Wright was not off his message on Monday. But Obama has changed his story - again! It's disgusting that a United States Senator sat in a church that supported and endorsed the views of Hamas, and with his silence and presence in the church gave legitimitacy to Hamas and Wright's preachings. But for the DNC and superdelegates to go to these lengths to support a candidate who obviously harbors racist anti-american views of our country, just shows how out of touch the radical left wing of the democratic party is with Americans. The DNC is doing a reenactment of the end of Thelma and Louise for the women, they must be really bitter with us....

First thoughts: McCain's Bush problem

Linda. Clinton STILL won't win the nomination, but now Obama is much more damaged than he would have been if Hillary would have done the math and conceded. Like so many have said, she'll take the party down trying to get the nomination, she doesn't care.

Right now, her ONLY chance is to get superdelegates to support her - and they have to do so by at least a 2:1 margin!!! But that is not what's been happening, even since PA Obama continues to roll in more endorsements than she does. If she can't get superdelegates to switch to her after all the bad press Obama has been getting, then it ain't gonna happen. The math is clear, and anyone with the ability to add and subtract can see that it's over.

But hey, at least she'll get the pleasure of crippling us against McSame before the goes out like a sore loser. And a pro-Iraq war McCain is what will scare voters away, who will recognize that McCain is actually a carbon copy of Bush and that the two men have so much in common: immigration and the wars in Iraq and Afghistan.
On the Wright issue, this controversy is being blown out of proportion. It is a fantasy.

Second, the people she most needs to convince that this fantasy is true are the people least likely to believe it.

Let’s first deal with Clinton’s fantasy lead in the popular vote.

“I’m very proud that as of today, I have received more votes by the people who have voted than anyone else,” Clinton said the day after her victory in the April 22 Pennsylvania primary.

But has she really? No. Not really. Not unless you throw out the existing rules of the Democratic Party and invent a new set of Hillary Rules.

Under Hillary Rules, Clinton counts the popular vote in Michigan, where she was the only major candidate on the ballot. The Democratic Party does not recognize those votes.

Under Hillary Rules, Clinton also counts the popular vote in Florida, where candidates were forbidden to campaign. The Democratic Party does not recognize the results of the Florida primary, either.

Under Hillary Rules, Clinton throws out the “votes by the people who have voted” in the states of Iowa, Nevada, Maine and Washington, because those were caucus states, where popular vote tallies were not officially kept and where, by the way, Obama won three out of the four contests.

Under Hillary Rules, Clinton gets to choose the contests that help her, throw out the contests that do not and declare herself the winner.

Steve Kornacki of The New York Observer did an excellent, detailed story last week on Clinton and the popular vote, going through a number of different scenarios and projections for the contests that remain.

His conclusion: “The point is that under the most basic and probably the fairest criteria — simply counting every state and U.S. possession where there was a legitimate primary or a caucus where popular votes were tallied — Obama will finish the primary season hundreds of thousands of votes ahead of Clinton.”...'

First thoughts: McCain's Bush problem

SHE IS IN IT TO WIN IT AND WIN IT SHE WILL.hillaryclinton.com . (I rarely get published anyway so this is just to vent. If I made inane comments about Obama being in bed with wright or something equally dumb I may get published more)Going into PA Hillary and her over 20 point lead spelled was impossible for Obama to crack into. They said Pre PA Primary (PPP) that if she wins by less than 10 it would be trouble for her... Low and behold her win was just under 10 now the pundits (not all but the louder ones) are proclaiming that "he can't close the deal" like she he lies all day long.

They "cling" to Reverend Wright like it's the last hope they have of keeping this "un-entitled" candidate far away from any prospects of the white house. They were all fine with Obama the candidate when they thought no way in H-E-double hockey sticks he would be the nominee. But when it started to look Barack may actually have a real shot they quickly turned.

Hillary has told numerous lies and her using the windfall for a gas tax holiday amounts to nothing but pandering to they who don't feel the need to look past ads and soundbites for the MSM. Do they (the chuck todd's Joe "i was in congress" Sacarborough, Pat "no way a black person gets to sit at the desk in the oval office" Buchanan, David Gregory and most of CNN and all of Fox focus on her lies and pandering? NO!!! That would be too much like right. It makes more sense to focus on a loon who isn't running for office because they cannot beleive that Obama didn't know everything his pastor of 20 years thought. Now there are people who have been married for longer who don't really know their spouses (cough *Hillary* cough) and other members of that church who had no clue of those incendiary comments but no it's all about barack's minister.

If Barack wins NC by any margin less than 15 I'm sure the media knuckleheads will again be singing he can't close the deal. The fact that IN is similar to PA in demos seems to escape them as well in their talk about Barack should win that state.

I'm glad that people are leaving Hillary's lear of lies and showing support for not only change but a candidate who actually thinks before he acts or speaks. That gas tax holiday thing shows she will say whatever is necessary to get elected and the media is only too happy to help her.

I'm sick of 'em all!! This event was important not only because of the lost jobs, but also because it appears that some important, proprietary defense-related technology also may have been compromised.

Hillary Clinton has mentioned this event several times over the past couple weeks and attempts to put the blame at the feet of the Bush administration. The only problem with her storyline is that the selling of this company to the Chinese, which led to its eventual move to China, initially okayed by President Clinton. The Clinton administration gave their approval despite protestation from several defense experts concerned about the loss of a key defense technology. Even Senator Bayh has put the blame on the Clinton administration.

Of course, Hillary conveniently forgets to mention this part of the story. I understand that she is not Bill Clinton. But why not be truthful with the American people? Why the deception? Does she just think we are dumb or what? She cannot be trusted.

This story is so much more important than the Reverend Wright story. It has been reported by our local Raleigh NBC affiliate that a group with strong ties to the Clintons has been caught making Robocalls to NC African-American voters giving them BOGUS voting info. The NC Attorney General is looking into it. What happened was that blacks were receiving calls from a man calling himself "Lamont" telling them to WAIT to vote until they received a voting packet in the mail. The problem is that these packets were for absentee voting which expired almost a month ago. We DO have a short period with same day registration/voting which started about a week ago and goes until this Saturday - but these calls did not mention that. Instead they were telling people to WAIT to vote until they received this packet!! These calls have been traced to a group called "Women's Voices, Women's Votes" whose president just sent a large contribution to Hillary's campaign and whose Executive Director worked for Bill Clinton in his 1992 campaign and whose Attorney helped in Bill's Impeachment defense. I hope the MSM will check into this.

First thoughts: McCain's Bush problem

Chuck, what am I missing? "...if Clinton closes as she has in the last few primaries..." Wasn't it Obama who "closed" in Pennsylvania -- from a 20 point to a 9.4 point gap? I bet 3 months ago McCain was thinking to himself, "How can I win this election??? I am a Republican who supports many of Bush's policies, I said we may be in Iraq for 100 years (which I believe was taken out of context), I'm a maverick, and no I don't play along side Dirk Nowitzki, I'm old and I have admitted I don't know much about the economy. I don’t believe we are in a recession although credible sources have stated we are. I'm not sure if I said this earlier but I'm OLD. I made a speech about the economy which proved in its entirety how I do not know much about the economy. I’m had a senior movement which I forgot about that speech and hopefully the American people have as well. I’m on the campaign trail and no one really knows about me. Mitt Romney made me look worse than Barack did on ABC at a debate in earlier this year in FLA. I secretly wish I had the mind of Ron Paul. Mitt Romney would have better electability than me even after what happen in Texas. I can’t choose my running mate because I forgot who’s in congress. I say “my friends” in most of my speeches because that’s my slang for “whats up dawg”----I’m hoping it’ll help me bite into a little of Barack’s youth vote. I’ve admitted that HRC and I are very good friends. (Me speaking-If I were VP I don’t think I could say the same) AND, not only can I not get any of my rehearsed words on al qaeda in Iraq right, but I think I’ll forget that the US is in a war in Iraq.

First thoughts: McCain's Bush problem

Lie down with dogs; get up with fleas.

First thoughts: McCain's Bush problem

"This brings Obama the closest he’s ever been to Clinton in the superdelegate total."
--Seriously FR, every day brings Obama the closest he's ever been to Clinton's superdelegate total. (Maybe with the exception of the first days of this rat race).

I opt to defend Clinton on her choreographed carpool and coffee experience. Because I give her points for doing it.

I shun Clinton on her gas tax position. Once the candidate of the economy, she is proving to be more the candidate of pander. AND also proving to be about as in tune with the economy as 'I don't know nuttin' McCain'. AND her position is not very green, I guess her environmental speak is merely pander as well--economically, I understand, that it would be smart to maintain the gas tax and refund $25 some other way if that is what she wants to do. Pander and dishonesty will get her nowhere.

First thoughts: McCain's Bush problem

Laura, VA...please get real, I beg you!
Obama has gotten nothing but puff-ball treatment by the media up until now.
Fidelity to one's country, and respect for its' customs and courtesies ARE issues; as is the associations that one makes while rising to any position of power in the government.
It's clear that Obama was not fully vetted, and that he cannot handle the pressure. He has flip flopped on the subject of his pastor. First he said he could no more disassociate with him than he could someone in his own family.
Two days ago he threw him under the bus.
We could have accepted that a month ago.
But instead he gave a disenguous lecture on race in America, and told us we all have to be more tolerant.
It's one thing to say, "okay this is enough, I'm getting off at the next stop."
It's all entirely different to continue riding the train when you know full well it's heading in the wrong direction,....THEN blame the engineer or the conductor because you ended up far away from where you wanted to go.
Obama knew that guy for 20 years. Went to his services every Sunday, and listened to everything he had to say.
He knew full well what he was all about and he wasn't going to dismiss any of it unless/until it started to hurt him in the polls.
When it did he cut Wright loose.
I'm sorry, but that isn't leadership, and we certainly don't need someone with that kind of "character" in the White House.
I'll be supporting Hillary for the nomination, thank you....you should be too!

First thoughts: McCain's Bush problem

Valid question! He had a lot of cleaning up to do after the Clinton administration. Lowering taxes is always a good idea, and he brought back status and dignity to the office. A great man."

--------

Okay. This totally made me giggle. This HAS to be irony and satire.
