With 99% of precincts reporting, Obama easily won North Carolina, 56%-42%. And with 99% of precincts reporting in Indiana, Clinton won that state, 51%-49%.

Thanks for showing what a true double-digit win for a true and honest leader looks like.

Please let no one post about Wright over here. We ALL heard it all. 3. Wright we all know. Someone else's words. Obama has not anywhere private or public acted like, dressed like, or said anthing like, or pushed anything like Wright did in the initial clips (2 minutes cut out found after a combing of church bulletins and tapes representing 20 years x 52 weeks x 60 minutes ~0.001%). God forbid any of us attending a church for 20 years that differs from our beliefs on any single issue. He has made clear that the spiritual agreement and agreement on church programs for the poor were important and has completely made clear that he does denounces, renounces, finds inappopriate, finds untrue comments regarding government and AIDS and the other objectionable comments. Why is it hard to accept this when all evidence supports it? Most will. Some will hold on. Why, maybe they see an opposite reflection of their own beliefs in Wright.
Last night's results

Hillary please bow out gracefully dont let the super delegates push you out of the race, because thats whats about to happen. $6.4 million loan to you campaign has to be a vey hurting thing... In some aspects this state is still back in 1865. The main problem for Hillary is how will she be able to campaign while she is working in the Senate to get the gas tax suspended for the summer and the get the government to bill big oil for the cost. This is a national nomination, so don't think all the stupid things you said in Indiana will be forgotten.

Last night's results
Good morning! What a great night in politics-
even for us amateurs. Frankly, that is for her alone to decide.

I would ask that when everyone begins to post all there negative comments about her, that you refrain from calling her names,or making snide remarks about her.

She may not be your chosen candidate but she was/is for many of us.

As a mother of two children (a boy and a girl), I long for the day when I can tell my daughter, that like her brother she too can someday be president. My guess is that we have seen the last potential female candidate for another generation and likely, it will be my daughter someday telling hers.

I never really understand why women don’t support her. As women, we continue everyday to fight for equality. (Whether many of you want to admit it or not).

I have no idea who I will vote for in November. I don’t necessarily believe a lot of what Barak says. However, as an American I do believe that voting is our greatest gift and if more people choose him, I will abide by that decision.

That being said, if he truly is capable of winning in November and accomplishes all that he hopes to…I will be the first to admit I was wrong.

Slamming Hillary when she has clearly lost is not necessary…many of us are saddened today as we watch our candidate slowly fizzle away (for hopefully just a few years).
Last night's results

Very nice synopsis of the major headlines around the country. Kudos to your hardworking team!

Last night's results

As I have been saying all during this primary season, class outbeats trash any day! But the question has to be asked when does this not become used as a tool to create a divide that was not so highly contrasted until beat to death by the media in an effort to deliver a story. When you look at how this race started for example ,Black voters did not favor Senator Obama as much as white voter and the fact that white voters had to of carried him in prodominantly white states. The point I am trying to make is this this country still has divides, If our youth can see the wisdom in trying to change that then mabe our elders can learn from them , I dont think that the media should exploit those divides for print material. That information should be left to the campaigns. Just yesterday I saw someone use the unreasonable logic, that because Obama was receiving 90%+ of the black vote ,that made Obama a racist. So I beg of the media please stop giving these divisive people a bone to chew on let them work for it rather than hand it to them. Sincerly a devoted fan of First Read

Last night's results

The black racism in the North Carolina win cannot triumph over the nomination process. The Indiana win of a mere 9 counties by Obama out of more than 100 counties cannot triumph over the nomination process. Florida and Michigan must be counted; the remaining states must vote; and the superdelegates must use their independent judgment to select the best qualified candidate for the presidency and that is Hillary Clinton. The fight for the future of America continues.

Last night's results

Hillary has loaned herself $11.4 billion over the last 60 days. Therefore, after all that we've experienced during this sometimes "bitter" campaign, we've got to FORCE ourselves to put it all behind us now... for the sake of our children and their children, who are depending on us to turn this country around.

Both Hillary and Barack have made mistakes along the way. Neither are perfect. But voting for either of them is far better than voting for McSame.

So let's be GROWN-UPS so that our kids can have a better chance to grow up too.

Last night's results

Just as in the Kentucky Derby Hillary "Republican" Clinton broke both her front ankles and it's way past time for the supers to come in and euthanize the old nag's campaign. She has shown she will drag down Obama and the Democratic Party in order to steal the nomination.

Come on supers, join the ObamaNation. We've got game, political game. We just defeated the mighty Clinton political machine in the Democratic Primary. Now it's time to join us as we send that ancient elitist panderer McCain into political retirement, where all Reagan foot soldiers belong.

Go Obama 08/12!

Last night's results

Game. Set. Match. Now onto the FINALS.

Last night's results

I am a proud Obama supporter this morning. As soon as you realize this, the better off you will be. The better off, ALL of us will be.
You lost, Hillary. It's that simple.
You ran a good race, and you tried your best and even your WORST, and it still was not enough to bring Obama down. You know it, and I know it, and all Clinton supporters know it:
You are finished. You are done. Game over.
It is time for you now, Hillary, to leave the race respectively and with honor. It is time, as you have said "to make sure we have a democrat in the White House" and it's time for you to make good on your promise. I think your supporters were fantastic, the race was fantastic, and certainly you gave Obama a run for his money.
Unfortunately, it was all: too little, too late.
It is time to heal our party and it is time to take the fight to McCain. We still need you Hillary, but we now need you in a different capacity.
Obama has won and you need to get out of his way, or at least stand by his side and we must now rally as ONE. Congratulations to Obama. We knew you could do it. Keep up the good work, keep taking the punches if they throw them, (and the repubs will) but take comfort for America has spoken:
We got your back, Obama. I have said many things about Clinton and it actually got a bit nasty, but nowhere near as nasty as it could have been and no where as nasty as I'm sure the Republicans are going to be. Wounded animals are sometimes the most dangerous.

Anyone voting for McCain will do this country more harm than any terrorist could ever do. If we continue on our current path, 20 years from now gas will be $20 a gallon, the dollar will be totally worthless, the average American will not be able to even dream of owning a home, more bridges in our states will collapse and kill our citizens, our planet will be dying due to global warming and we will still be in Iraq.

We have a 9 trillion dollar debt. This is a MAJOR reason things are so bad right now. George Bush and the Republicans are a major reason for this debt but so are we. We got too greedy and too selfish and decided to allow Congress to spend our money and when that ran out, we allowed them to borrow from China, Japan, The UAE etc. Yes I said it . WE THE PEOPLE SAT BY AND DID NOTHING TO STOP IT!!!!

How will we tell our children in 20 years that we had a chance to change all of this for the better, but we chose to be petty and vote or stay home out of spite instead of voting out of a conviction that we as a nation need to change? How can we tell our children to stop being petty with their siblings and friends when we are still petty over race, gender, age, etc?

Do we allow our selfishness and fears to keep us from doing what we all know in our heart of hearts is right?

Not this time. We are ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. I love this country and believe in those words. I hope we all do.

A WARNING TO ALL DEMOCRATIC OFFICIALS: Don't let this victory go to your heads. Serve the people. If you don't we will unite again and figure out something that works. Even if it means forming a third party.

America, lets unite, go kick some Republican ass and take our country back.

Last night's results

What, no comments from Patty, SD today? She must have gone into hiding after last night.

Last night's results

Lisa in NY. I too have a girl and a boy and I honestly don't understand why you think Hillary is the only female with the potential to be President...I too would like to see a woman in the White House but equality is choosing the right person for the job at any one point in time, not choosing a woman just for the sake of it.

There are many strong female leaders in politics and business these days and many who have the potential to be President in the near term (near being in twenty years or so).

My daughter already believes she can do anything she puts her mind too and so does my son. They just don't need Hillary (or Barack for that matter) to prove anything to them. They already see women (like Jodi Rell, our governor) and people of color (both of their school principals just as one example) in positions of great leadership. They don't judge anyone on race or gender.

I'm just surprised you see Hillary as our only hope. That honestly flumoxes me. That, I guess, is the great divide.

My eye, btw, is on Claire McHaskell, but many others are also worth keeping an eye on and supporting.

Last night's results

Hillary bow out gracefully an help unite the dem. party for the Ge in Nov.
