So, assuming that all of the unallocated delegates from NC and Indiana go to Hillary Clinton, Obama picked up a net 5 delegates last night.

Congratulations to Barack Obama. He will be the Democratic party nominee for President. All that is left is for him to accept the nomination in Denver, and announce his running mate. I continue to hope that he will pick a female running mate, but not Hillary Clinton! Please, Senator Obama, there are plenty of qualified women for the ticket. Please choose someone with integrity. That automatically eliminates Hillary Clinton from consideration.

Obama in 2008. Integrity matters and the Clintons have none.

I truly want to reach out to all Clinton supporters. As a DEMOCRAT first, and an Obama supporter second, this country truly needs a new direction in politics. Now, I know there will be those who will absolutely not vote for Obama, but then there are those who want a Democrat as the next President; like myself. Do what is right for the country, put aside all the hate that has built up over the past couple of months and think about your future, and that of your children/grandchildren. Remember, a vote for McCain is a vote for another 4 years of the HELL this country has faced under George W. Bush, and 4 more years our service men and women will be in Iraq with no exit strategy. Lastly, we are AMERICANS before anything else.

Thanks for keeping us up-to-date. It will be particularly interesting to see what happens with the SDs in the next few days.

And can I put a plea in (I usually don't do this) to keep the Kentucky Derby analogies out of this. Many of us (on all sides and no matter what are thoughts are on the subject of horse-racing) are animal lovers and just don't want the tragedy of that horse dying to come into this discussion at all.

Sorry, just needed to say that. I realize not all might agree with me but wanted to say it anyway.

Hey MSNBC, Can we please retire the cute distinction between "too close to call" and "too early to call"? Last night revealed the specious reasoning at the heart of that non-distinction. If too early to call simply means you think you know who will win but you don't know for sure yet, that would seem to be precisely the same definition for too close to call.

It's either CLOSE, and you can't call it (the outcome is in question).

Or you CALL IT.

TOO EARLY makes no sense. (e.g.: The 2009 Super Bowl is, as I speak, too early to call.)
