The ignoring him approach sure worked for McCain but let's all try not to say at once, "but Clinton is not Huckabee". And that's by no means a slam on Huckabee, who's campaign I admired.

He absolutely has to pivot to taking on McCain. As Dems we all need him to do that. No more free ride for the Old Man :). And he has to have one eye on Clinton too because we don't know what next she will pull and with whom she has sway.

I have long believed that Obama's roll out on superelegates has largely been strategic. Like everything else MOSTLY within their control, the campaign has outperformed expectations I'd say (to capture in political terms). In plain English, I'd say they have performed AWESOMELY!.

Of course isn't the point of being in the Democratic Party that we don't WANT TO BE LIKE REPUBLICANS. This is probably the most troubling aspect of Hillary's new persona; she's turning back into a Goldwater Girl.

By going proportional you get a candidate that may not look strong in some states, but will have the longest coat tails; which is a much better system. It allows a back-up just in case you do not with the White House.

Strange that Obama would be celebrating Israel's 60th birthday during his campaign. Before now, he never spoke out in support of Israel when his church was publishing hate speech against Israel and justifying terrorist attacks on Israel by the Palestinians. Perhaps Mr Obama is not entirely honest about his attitude towards Israel if it can get him elected?

To all the Obama supporters

If so many people want to see Hillary Clinton out of this race

If Obama is going to be the nominee

If Obama is loved by so many people in the party,

Then why hasn't he captured more than 51% of the votes in the Presidential Primary, and

Why don't the 180 or so delegates he needs to clinch the nomination all come forward right now and tell the entire world that they're supporting Obama and shut the whole thing down already?

The reason that ALL the superdelegates aren't just RUSHING over to Obama is because there are still PLENTY of superdelegates that don't think he can beat John McCain.

Many of the superdelegates that are supporting Obama are only doing so because they're up for reelection and they're affraid that they will lose the Congressional seat if they don't publicly back Obama.

And Obama and his supporters want to act like Obama is not just another politician. Well one thing's for sure, ALL of the politicians who are supporting him, are just typical politicians who are doing what politicians do to get elected/reelected.

ie Announce who will be in their cabinet/administration if they win. Otherwise the inexperienced Obama will be a real dud! Also Hillary's experience claim will be pointless

Obama cannot close the deal. That's because nearly a majority of the voters in his own party do not like him. The percentage of Hillary voters that will not vote for Obama is nearly 50%. Now, certainly that number appears high and will go down over time. But even if 10% of the Hillary voters either stay home, or vote for McCain, Obama doesn't stand a chance this fall.

I have been reading statements from leading democrats such as Gary Hart and Ted Kennedy claiming that voters who have supported Clinton will be in the fold come November.

Wrong!

Democrat for life voting Republican slate hoping they retake the House, the Senate and the Presidency.

Hopefully, this will force my party to rebuild and restructure or cause the formation of a third party. I can not and will not support the senator from Illinois. I can no longer be a part of a party that has such great divisions and is about to take a sharp left hand turn away from the middle. I can not and will not support a man who attracts such vile hateful supporters. I can not support a man whose words I do not trust, a man who has shown no actions as a senator to excite me in any way about his ability to lead my party and be president of my country.

McCain and the Republicans in 08 so those of us abandoned by our party can find a new path, be it a rebuilt Democratic Party as this decade ends or a Third Party of left-centrists!!!!

That the Obama campaign has chosen not to kick the opposition when its down, is a glaring contrast between the two candidates. The respect of allowing Sen. Clinton to leave the arena with her head held high, after battle well-fought, rather than forcing her out, is not only strategically correct, but compassionate, diplomatic and extremely Presidential. I can't imagine a similar scenario were their positions reversed.

If Senator Obama manages our country as well as he has run his campaign; if he respects the people as well as he has his chief opponent, I think we've much to look forward to after November.

Well the superdelegates are showing some grace here. In some ways the principle for allowing Hillary her space is a new change of politics. People really have missed a leading point in this campaign-Obama and Hillary have done some negative campaigning but the measure of how it has been done are very different. I truly believe Obama would rather not go in a negative direction but when you have someone being verbally abusive as Hillary has done, at some point you have to take a stand. Hillary's campaign went beyond political attacking she has been very verbally abusive and egotistical-Frankly Obama has shown true leadership by keeping his emotions level, balanced and most importantly has kept forcused. Doing it slowly gives the appearance of changing a few minds at a time; creating a sense of building momentum. Obama still needs to compete for the remaining delegates, but getting the superdelegates helps as well.

If there is policy speech on Israel, doing it in Florida doesn't matter as much as some people might think. It sounds like all the candidates have the correct idea to mantain our connection with the only democracy in the Middle East with rule of law close to what we have here.

I'm happy now because after the largest landslide loss in presidential politcal history(coming in November) we will see a rebuilt Dem Party or an effective third party movement...either way I am happy not to be supporting the loser in November and can't wait for growth and maturity to catch up with obamas supporters, because they will be the ones helping to rebuild the Party (once they have some intelligence and common sense to go with their Degrees) or they will be the ones moving for a new Party.

It is sad that it will probably take the loss of the House Senate and Presidency to accomplish it but as the Party has imploded it will take something else to shake people into realizing that a far left turn under obama is worse than having the Republicans in charge for another 2-6 years (house/senate) and the Presidency for 4-8 years. Hopefully that will begin to draw people back to a Middle of the Road stance which is also the most effective place for compromises. And yes people with hard fought compromise we can move forward but with one side lording it over another our divisions grow greater as we see with the animosity between the Clinton supporters and the downright ugliness of the obamaians.

Maybe the Clintons have too much dirt on some of the delegates and are blackmailing them.
Loyalty and cronyism have no part in todays politics.
