People in the Clinton campaign used to argue that Obama was "so lucky to be black" and "the country is caught up in it" but now they're saying white people won't vote for a black man (conveniently forgetting Iowa). I just wish they'd stop dividing people up. We don't need leaders who make appeals based on race. I suspect Clinton will be losing support because people are disgusted by her comments.

1. Obama has won this thing. I guess some Clinton people are waiting to see how she does in West Virginia and all. However, that will be a very weak argument considering this has been a marathon and he's far far ahead on several fronts. I think the only reason the supers shouldn’t be endorsing Obama in big numbers should be that they don’t want to damage Clinton support which vital to the democratic race. It shouldn’t be about fear and trying to show loyalties to the Clintons. Endorse him and charge him up so he can attack McCain strongly. That would be a huge driving force.

2.was just thinking the other day, I actually think the dream ticket of having Clinton as V.P. would be a good idea coz she's actually hard working and can be strong on issues of health plans plus also be needed for support against McCain. John Edwards is a very thoughtful and classy guy.
I came away from his interviews with an impression he voted for Barack and has nothing but respect for Hillary. He is giving her the respect that he feels she deserves, along with gently telling her like him; she should know when to gracefully drop out of the race for the good of the democratic party.

I like Edwards and I hope that Barack looks to him to head up Health Care.

In times of desperation and frustration are when ones true character shows. It is so sad to see a woman that could have been great sink to such lows. As a woman, I am humiliated by her behavior. As a white working class woman and mother I am disgusted.

Meanwhile, Ivory Tower “Barry” Obama proposes to ignite the economy by punishing everybody with any equity positions (read: much more than half the adult populace) severely when they realize capital gains, and by imposing “windfall profit” taxes on corporations (that already pay 35% income tax), which can only serve to chill the exploration and new drilling that are so patently wanting at present. And I’ve heard not a PEEP out of Barry regarding our bizarre and self-destructive (compared to more forward-thinking nations like Japan and France) refusal to greenlight hundreds of the new nuclear reactors that could actually do something about our dependence on oil and coal.

So my question.... Everyone in the DNC has been saying the country will come together behind a candidate and democratic party will heal prior to the general election.

If that is the case why are "supers" concerned about conservatives in rural districts and having a hard time being re-elected?

Two answers...
1. If the party comes toegether they have nothing to worry about.

2. If they have worried about it, end the race now and stop the erosion and continued wedges that Clinton is throwing down. If you ended this when you first should have over a month ago this problem would not be in existance now and we would not be dicussing this.

Losing one's bearings has nothing to do with age. It is just losing one's way. After both men claimed that they would run a clean campaign, Mcain trying to link Obama to Hammas and thereby exploit a perceived weakness with Jewish Americans does seem very much like a low blow. I think the substance of the "losing his bearings" comment is more ethically based than age based.

Edwards is almost certainly in the Obama camp.

I hope that Senator Clinton will be offered the kind of concession she deserves and that she will back off of comments that hurt Obama moving forward. I really like the idea of having Hillary on the Supreme Court.

My heart truly goes out to Hilary. I do believe that she is the better candidate. The crucial states confirmed that. Her campaign made some crucial mistake. I would forever blame Mark Penn on that. Obama had the proper support and the right people in his campaign - thanks to the 14 former Clinton staff members.

I can only hope and pray that after all the mudsling the media and Obama's bloggers threw at her, that she gets the respect she deserves after all these.

Many bought into the Republican argument about the Clintons - they shrewed, cannot be trusted, etc...
She passed on running in 2004, she finished her 1st term as a Senator, her attendance in the Senate is exemplary while campaigning compared to the other two. She has served this country well and for sure will continue to do so in whatever capacity she can.

I am appaled by reading this site and the others. How Obama supporters had branded her names, etc... while Obama preach to bridge the gap and become a uniter. How is that possible when you can't influence your supporters to do exactly that?

I wish him all the luck in the coming elections if nominated. I sure hope that he has toughened up and learned from Hilary's training. Those are kid gloves by the way. And that no surprises from his closet comes out to haunt the dems in November.

I didn't think the Salter response was particularly clever - I did think the "loosing his bearings" comment was - and, let's be honest - it was about McCain's age...which IS a relevent concern where race and gender are NOT, because neither race nor gender will impact judgment and fitness - age could.

John McCain is too old to be a Judge in some states - age is a relevent factor. It may not be politically correct - but there are legitimate concerns. John McCain is OVER 70...think about that.

John McCain is a closet Democrat. His upcoming presidency will not be GWB clone. It will actually be centerist. He isn't reliant on the Religious Right. And he's sure not a left-wing socialist. His policies will be more down the center. And that is what America needs right now. Not a huge jump to the left with Obama who's policies are going to be closer to communism than capitalism.
Empty quotes like this from the Obama campaign are going to be typical. It's like his speaches. They could be given by an 8th grade debate student. They are empty of content. Lots of pretty words but the vessel is empty.

The "flood" has been skillfully contained by the Axelrod floodgates.

There was no need to deluge Hillary with the defctors all at once. This slow deliberate release, like more days to follow, will sneak up on the media until new graphics have to be re-designed to relect Obama's Super-delegate lead by next week.

Obama's campaign has been steady, well-controlled, and politically-brilliant. There will be dozens of Political Science Ph.D. dissertations on this campaign for years to come. She was outmanuvered and outmanaged by Obama at every step for the last 15 months.

I am so disgusted with MSNBC and CNN. When these 2 networks routinely breakdown the democratic primaries or caucauses by gender and race, and have all along said that Clinton leads among whites and the blue collar workers, they themselves have played the race card and they should all be ashamed. It is not my belief that 2 people who were part of Arkansas for so many years and have done a lot for African Americans are in any way racists. It is the determination of the "disgusting", "unprofessional" and "biased" media that is playing the race card. The Obama camp is loving it too, although tries to portray themselves as up and up. I sure hope that if by chance this presidential race does come down to which race voted for whom, the "ignorant" media won't blame the Clintons for Obama's loss for the presidency, but simply call it what it is. He was the weaker candidate and had some problems with certain populations. Do not ever forget that no President is without fault or error. Since JFK is likened with Obama, let's remember that JFK too had his share of "trists" shall we? Because of all this disgusting behaviour by the media, I just refuse to watch their programs and I hope others will follow. Treat Senator Clinton with a little bit of respect and diginity, even though you think she herself may not have any. I hope Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews especially tone down their rhetoric. I sure hope Chris Matthews runs for Senate in Pennsylvania that I have been hearing a lot about. I cannot wait to hear his "secrets" be exposed and be judged by the media of which he is a part of.

Everyone go read Peggy Noonan's column in the Wall Street Journal. Says it all about the superdelegates. They are the ones to be held responsible for letting this charade continue and, and if Barack Obama does not win the nomination in the fall, they will go down in history as the cowards who abetted Hillary Clinton in her destruction of the Democratic Party.

Edwards said Obama was looking the more likely to beat McCain becuase Obama was looking more likely the nominee (so clearly had the better chance as Hill will have no chance since she isn't the nominee).

I think its better for the superdelegates to trickle in quietly instead of there being a big flood to Obama. It could be seen as everyone ganging up on Clinton and there could be a backlash. Senator Clinton earned the right to go out on her own terms as long as she doesnt keep aiming for Obama's kneecaps. Let her have a graceful exit. She deserves it.
