Duncan drops out

Posted: Friday, January 30, 2009 2:17 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro and Mark Murray
RNC Chairman Mike Duncan

has dropped out of the race for RNC Chairman.

"The winds of change" are upon the RNC, he said. "I see what's happening."

More to come

*** UPDATE ***
Duncan thanked his staff. He said that he is a new grandfather, and will be plenty busy.

So what does this mean?
1. Duncan is out.
2. That does NOT necessarily mean Steele will win. He still has to get 85 votes. Katon Dawson is the one to watch next round. He showed the most movement last round and if he pulls further up it could be a two-man race between Steele and Dawson. Dawson would be taking up the insider mantle now.
3. Also, think about if you add Duncan's and Blackwell's votes to Dawson or Anuzis, it is very close.

"This is the opening we were hoping for," an Anuzis spokesman said.

Another One bites the dust hey hey, another one bites the dust.  What a wimp Mike is to drop out when he is so close.  Looks like the RNC has chosen their token minority to sooth their Minority Envy.  Best of all they chose a closet Democrat.

I am so grateful to Andrea Mitchell for displaying the "Steele Democrat" campaign sign that he abused to fool voters into voting for him by trying to fool them he was a Democrat.  I bet that Mount Lushmore is doing a premature ejaculation of hate and outrage right now.  I can't wait for Countdown and Keith showing us how Viagra Boy does another mental meltdown because the RNC is being run by a closet Democrat.  I hope that MSNBC keeps showing that sign all day long to rub it into the faces of the repugnant ones that they are being lead astray by a closet Democrat.  Looks like the evangelical christian lunatic fringers will be foaming at the mouths when they figure out they've been had.

Prison for rove and the banking robber barons!
Looks like there's going to be a black man as the head of the Republican party.

Anyone want to bet on how long it'll take for Lord Limbaugh to start trashing him?

(Still looking for that ACORN info in the stimulus, righties.  Get with it!)

Lucky for us Dems he had myopia last year.
The winds  of change are happening for him...But not for the GOP (Grumpy old Politicians.  It depends on how conservative the new boss is.  BTW Someone needs to tell John Boehner that the winds of change are at his back also.
It took Duncan until TODAY to see what's happening?

And that about sums up the whole republican party.  Good luck with that.  On second thought, I want you to fail.  I want America to succeed, but I want republicans to fail.  ;)

My big question is what is a Katon?  Is it male or female or possibly androgynous?  Is it even human? Nah it's a repugnant one.

Prison for rove!
Soooo ... the RNC is going to have a black chair? That's going to be interesting .....
Don't count Steele in.  I think that Duncan stepped aside in order to throw his supporters behing Dawson or Anuzis. Most likely because he was worried that the RNC was about to be taken over by an "outsider".  Electing Steele might be good PR but the fact remains he is a NorthEast moderate (and the GOP has been giving all signs that majority do not want to go that route.)
Not that it matters, Eric Salacious, but I think the Steele Democrats sign was part of the smear campaign against him, supported by Chuckie Schumer's illegal tampering with Steele's private information.

As for Katon and your questions.  I've always wondered the same things about Eric Salacious.

Sometimes I think you're MSierra's less educated alter ego.

Duncan described his chairmanship as the highlight of his life.  The man's idea of a good time is probably a root canal!  Sux 2 b u!!
Last ditch effort to save the insider tribe versus the dastardly outsider tribe. Since Duncan had the insider votes his withdrawal will allow those votes to strengthen one of the insider candidates. If that fails then another insider will fall on his sword for the sake of the fatherland.
Jawillie:

I really don't know if this is accurate as I haven't followed up on it.  Maybe you could look for the heading mentioned below and see if it means anything.  Obviously the reference uses the terminology "groups such as ACORN" so we'd all appreciate if you would clear this up.

"A line item in the stimulus package - under the heading "neighborhood stabilization activities" - sets aside $4.19 billion for low-income advocacy groups such as ACORN."

This is from the New York Post, which I'm sure is an unreliable conservative rag, but it does give a specific reference to the line item that has bothered some people, people who have associated it with ACORN.

My best to you and I wish you luck. We have along way to go.
