GOP ad hits Obama on health care

From NBC's Mark Murray and Domenico Montanaro
In advance of President Obama's televised town hall tomorrow on health care, the Republican National Committee is airing a new 60-second TV ad that criticizes Obama's plans to overhaul the system.

Per the RNC, the ad will air on "select national cable outlets." An RNC spokeswoman wouldn't disclose the size of the ad buy, but said it was neither small nor large.

Script:
"Today a national TV network turns its airwaves over to President Obama's pitch for government-run health care."
"Shouldn't this be a bipartisan discussion?"
"Republicans want health care reform that reduces costs across the board."
"Republicans believe every single American deserves quality health care."
"Republicans also believe another government takeover would diminish health care choice and quality."
"President Obama talks about a "public option."  When he says "public option", that means putting government bureaucrats in charge…instead of patients and their doctors."
"It's a bad idea."
"Republicans want bipartisan health care reform - a responsible plan that we can afford, where people are free to choose the best care for their families - without a government takeover."
"Tell President Obama to work with Republicans…and to stop rushing into another government takeover."
"The Republican National Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising."

Lies. And more lies. Insurance companies must make money to survive.

Survive yes... rape the public... NO!

Contrary to Gorden Gecko... GREED is NOT GOOD!
What has government taken over? Government "bailed out" the auto manufactures...two of them to be exact...nothing else. Medicare is a government program that I know damn well I've paid for...so what is government sponsored? I am waiting....
Let.. uh... me be perfectly clear, here... My healthcare plan isn't going to take away your right to private insurance. I...uh... am just going to make the public plan so cheap it will drive private insurers out of business.  I... uh... call it my stealth, nationalization of... uh ... um... healthcare.

Lies. And more lies. Insurance companies must make money to survive. If the government plans are failing, that's all the government has to do is print more money. It's not even close to be fair. Anne Holscroft, NY (Sent Tuesday, June 23, 2009 4:37 PM)

Or...or...or they can mutualize, and go non-profit and stop making billions off of hardships people rarely have control over.  People keep their jobs, and they stay in business.

It's as ugly as war profiteering.
I will blame no one but the Republicans if we get no health care reform that contains some plausable healtcare for all. I still have my care but may lose it depending on the job situation. The Republicans have blocked healthcare reform for years and we as a nation leave out more and more people from basic care. I contribute a good amount to my healthcare but without the job I could not continue it. The Republicans would just leave me out in the cold as they do for millions. They had 8 years to protect us, they did nothing and healthcare just got worse and worse. I am fed up. I was angry before the election and will be furious if the Republicans are successful in blocking real healthcare reform. It has become the anti-American party as far as I am concerned. They are more and more the party for the few and the party for those who have.
Lies. And more lies. Insurance companies must make money to survive. If the government plans are failing, that's all the government has to do is print more money. It's not even close to be fair.

So I guess that's why UPS and FedEx went backrupt, and all the private military contractors...you know, because they can't possibly compete with the feds.
The republican ad does not dare to say that they want the insurance companies to be in control of our health care system. Instead they use doctors and nurses name to mislead american peoples.  This is so twisted. I'll never vote for a republican again.

And be sure to pay your taxes so the illegals in your state don't have to.
Thanks for running the video and all the printed dialogue.

The video sounds GREAT to me. Government taking over health care IS a BAD IDEA. Haven't we learned anything from the failures of Obama yet? The lies, the intimidation, the stupidity. The man/mouse is arrogant and has no reason to be.

BOO! Now get up off your butt and do something presidential. And stop sucking up to the rest of the world.
If the GOP had such a great plan, where were they for the past eight years?  Give me a break!

They're working on it. They just don't want to rush it. Stall and delay, incite a little fear, stall a little more, and in a couple hundred years we will have a plan. My bet is that plan will involve a long list of things:

Tax cuts

And that's it!
So this will run on "select cable outlets." Doesn't that mean Fox news (and I use the term news loosely)? Run it all you want. Those that watch Fox news already knew they were against the President's plan. They didn't even have to read it. Why bother to read anything? They know they hate President Obama and want to see our country fail, so they're going to fight it all they can.
Republicans don't care about American people, only American Corporations.
AMERICA’S NATIONAL HEALTHCARE EMERGENCY!

It’s official. America and the World are now in a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. A World EPIDEMIC with potential catastrophic consequences for ALL of the American people. The first PANDEMIC in 41 years. And WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES will have to face this PANDEMIC with the 37th worst quality of healthcare in the developed World.

STAND READY AMERICA TO SEIZE CONTROL OF YOUR NATIONAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.

We spend over twice as much of our GDP on healthcare as any other country in the World. And Individual American spend about ten times as much out of pocket on healthcare as any other people in the World. All because of GREED! And the PRIVATE FOR PROFIT healthcare system in America.

And while all this is going on, some members of congress seem mostly concern about how to protect the corporate PROFITS! of our GREED DRIVEN, PRIVATE FOR PROFIT NATIONAL DISGRACE. A PRIVATE FOR PROFIT DISGRACE that is in fact, totally valueless to the public health. And a detriment to national security, public safety, and the public health.

Progressive democrats and others should stand firm in their demand for a robust public option for all Americans, with all of the minimum requirements progressive democrats demanded. If congress can not pass a robust public option with at least 51 votes and all robust minimum requirements, congress should immediately move to scrap healthcare reform and demand that President Obama declare a state of NATIONAL HEALTHCARE EMERGENCY! Seizing and replacing all PRIVATE FOR PROFIT health insurance plans with the immediate implementation of National Healthcare for all Americans under the provisions of HR676 (A Single-payer National Healthcare Plan For All).

Coverage can begin immediately through our current medicare system. With immediate expansion through recruitment of displaced workers from the canceled private sector insurance industry. Funding can also begin immediately by substitution of payroll deductions for private insurance plans with payroll deductions for the national healthcare plan. This is what the vast majority of the American people want. And this is what all objective experts unanimously agree would be the best, and most cost effective for the American people and our economy.

In Mexico on average people who received medical care for A-H1N1 (Swine Flu) with in 3 days survived. People who did not receive medical care until 7 days or more died. This has been the same results in the US. But 50 million Americans don’t even have any healthcare coverage. And at least 200 million of you with insurance could not get in to see your private insurance plans doctors in 2 or 3 days, even if your life depended on it. WHICH IT DOES!

Contact congress and your representatives NOW! AND SPREAD THE WORD!

God Bless You

Simple Question:  In response to the old-as-crypt line about the new plan putting "a government bureaucrat between you and your doctor," WHY don't the Democrats HAMMER the following line: you currently have an insurance company bureaucrat between you and your doctor.   This person's ONLY responsibility is to limit the amount of dollars the insurance company gives you.   So, would you rather have a government bureaucrat who cares about you or a bean-counter who only cares about the bottom line?  You get a bureaucrat either way; shouldn't you have one on your side?
"President Obama talks about a "public option."  When he says "public option", that means putting government bureaucrats in charge…instead of patients and their doctors."

And just who still has the option to select what ever doctor they want?  Of those that have a current plan, how many plans allow the insurance holder free rein in selecting which ever doctor they want?  How many are directed to specific doctors that may prescribe or order any medication or procedure that they see fit to order without first having to go through a process controlled by doctors and practicianers who are granted bonuses based on how well they restrict access?

And just what does, "Another government takeover" really mean?  Government takeover, like the FDA or the  U.S. Military? Flawed as some programs may be, do we really want the financial institutions to be devising their own rules and regulation?

Slamming the "government" is just another way of slamming democracy....as if the people are not able to elect individuals that can and will do their best to protect the interests of their constituents....  Clearly, if elections are fair then the people in office are there because Americans put them there.  So enough with blaming government for America's problems and start holding the voters (and non-voters) accuntable for their own actions.
Everyone should read the article on Steve Jobs and how he got a liver because of who he is.  He was able to buy enough doctors to get a liver transplant when he has had cancer.  Now, if I had cancer, even it if it is remission, and I had an organ start to fail, I would not be able to get on the list, much less get the organ.

Greatest healthcare in the world.......if you are rich.
Anne - Plenty of other countries have private health care companies doing very well for themselves and they exist alongside a public option.

The government provides a safety net of decent, dignified and competent healthcare to all. Those who wish to pay more for a higher level or service can then do so.

It's not that complicated.
Once again, if health care does not pass - then I vote for taking the free health care for life away from all politicians. It is time they see how much everything out there really costs.

Remember the news when the press asked Bush about $4 a gallon for gas - and he says Really it's up to $4 now. Politicians have no idea how much every thing costs now. So time to take away their freebies.

Politicians are socialists because they get freebies!
