8 more U.S. deaths in Afghanistan

From NBC's Jim Miklaszewski
U.S. military officials tell NBC News that eight Americans and one Afghan civilian translator were killed in two separate "complex" IED attacks on U.S. military patrols in southern Afghanistan.

Seven Americans and the translator were killed when their patrol struck a roadside bomb, and then they were immediately attacked with RPGs and small arms fire by enemy forces.

One American was killed in a similar attack on a U.S. patrol in a separate area in the south part of the country.

The two incidents came "a couple of hours apart." The U.S. military is withholding the exact locations and the Americans service affiliation pending notification of next of kin.

And this wingnuts - is why Obama can not be cavalier in his approach to a new strategy. No amount of bullying and whining will change the fact that NOTHING is routine in a time of war, and every single life matters.

Now, since you like parrot Cheney, maybe you should remember he said Al Queda was dead FOREVER, over 6 YEARS ago.
Really sad...Bush 43 took his eye off the ball and preemptively attacked the wrong country.

Our President will not be swayed by politics.  He is waiting to determine the stability of the existing government.
As a vietnam vet, I say get the hell out of Afganistan !!! We have seen this before, let's not make that mistake again. I support Obama, but I cannot support him sending more tropps to die for nothing. OBAMA,GET OUT !
Well thank Gog none of our unaccountable criminal class in New York and DC were harmed. Now continue on lying and dividing America for your own financial gain.
Barack H. Obama. Your Surge is waiting.
8 deaths you say? That's almost as many holes of golf Obama played yesterday.
And Nero fiddles while Rome burns.
Don't worry Obama, just wait till Health care goes through then you can make your choice. As long as your lib base is happy, who cares how many soldiers die.
When's Obama gonna grow a pair Frosty Red? No marbles in his bag.
My friend who was serving over there said there is nothing we can do in Afghanistan except to just stay and fight and fight and fight and fight and fight and fight and fight...only to keep the enemy from taking over again...forget about country building, you can't build a country in a land with zero resources, and with people who are 70% illiterate, and eat dirt soup!
AMERICAN MILITARY CONTINUE TO DIE IN AFGHANISTAN WHILE OBAMA PLAYS GOLF AND FUNDARISES.

OBAMA HAS NO DECENCY.

Our 'movin' on up' President.
Let's see.  That's 22 Americans in just the past 2 days who gave "the last full measure of devotion" for no particular reason, no policy, and no strategy while President Obama pauses to make sure he can "sell" whatever strategy he finally adopts for Afghanistan.

But hey, what's 22 deaths more or less to those who question whether it's worth it to adopt a "limited public option" for health care reform because it might only help 11 million people?

Easy come, easy go.
