No way is McCain going to win Iowa. We helped start the wave of support for Obama, and we're going to help him win on Tuesday. I was there to see Obama three times before the Iowa caucus, help him win my precinct, and now my children support him too - one is old enough to vote; the other is 16 but has canvassed with me twice and is volunteering to GOTV this weekend in Des Moines.

They rural people are going to vote for McCain. This makes no sense at all. McCain has voted against each of the last three farm bills, and said he would end all farm subsidies. Now those issues don't affect me much because I'm not a farmer, but why would you vote for anyone who doesn't support your very livelihood?

Glad to see Obama point out the flip side of the latest McCain ad in which Obama praises McCain and Lieberman for their efforts. Truly, another prime example of, "There are none so blind as those who will not see." McCain/Palin, and their supporters, are so engrossed in misrepresenting facts about Obama via such claims as, "Raising taxes on those who earn less than $42K per year", "Voting to raise taxes 94 times", etc, etc, and putting words in Obama's mouth that he never, spoke, are unable to even discern the difference from honorable praise and political endorsement...or more likely, they just don't care as apparently the end justifies any means. The indisputable fact that the Right and Evangelicals tenaciously cling to furthering proven lies, even thanking "Joe the Plumber" for what "He's done for America", (which would be, WHAT exactly?) even though he personally would benefit significantly by the Obama tax plan, truly beggars the imagination. Maybe it's time for more aggressive regulation of lies in political campaigns from ALL sides...why is it okay/legal to lie about oponents in such a critical area of democracy...very, very sad. For those of you who are contributing to this abomination, this would be a good time to truly have and demonstrate the courage of the convictions you claim to have...

Most of the stories we see these days discuss Obama's strength in Southern States with large African-American populations. As far as I'm concerned, what is much more inspiring is Obama's strength in northern New England - Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine - where there is no sizable African-American population, yet Sen. Obama is out-polling John McCain by ten to fifteen percent.

Nice, John. I'm not surprised you don't know anyone who hasn't donated. The people that donate to Obama's campaign have more sense than to associate with "stubborn" types. I'm a student working for my second degree and most of my friends have no money, but what little we have we give to the cause we believe in. It's refreshing to see so many average people backing a candidate, rather than to see the rich republicans controlling the election again.

When they asked Obama he COULD HAVE either kept the fire going or he could have said "no comment" BUT HE WAS GRACIOUS....and said "my mother had me at 18 she was a teenage mother!"
