The reason Obama has run a 'relatively error-free' campaign is that the media have covered for him in the most blatantly partisan way I have ever seen.

Had the news that he promises to bankrupt the coal industry come out before the debates, (the statements were made in January), McCain could have hammered him with them; heck, if they had been released at the time, Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic nominee.

So, please, spare me the 'Mr. Wonderful' shlock. For all we know, Obama shares his cocaine with the reporters on his plane. That may explain the coverage.

Today, the voters get their say, and I have a feeling that many of the Fourth Estate are in for a surprise.

This morning I cast my vote for "That One", and I have to say that it is the first time since I've been eligible to vote in a presidential election (1984) that I actually felt good about my vote. Before today I always felt as though I was either voting for the lesser of two evils, or voting party line by default. This time I feel as though I'm voting FOR someone instead of AGAINST someone. Even bigger, I'm voting for SOMETHING that I can actually believe in. While I'm not so naieve as to believe that Obama is the end-all be-all answer to what's wrong with this country, I do believe that he offers more than the blind partisanship that has gripped this country for the past 8 years (at least). For once, I'm actually PROUD of my vote.

By the way, on that coal thing, I listened to the entire tape. THE REST OF IT had Obama saying,more info which in no way suggests he's going to bankrupt the coal industry.

Looks like McCain on June 21, 2005, from the Senate floor, pushed legislation where Sen. Voinovich said McCain’s position would put coal industry out of business. There is even an estimate of 24,000 lost jobs in state of Ohio.
