Looks like Bill Clinton is playing both sides of the fence but he's just repaying loyal supporters for their support. I doubt that the money Bill raises for Carol will tip the scales for her but it will make that race more interesting than before.

Hey Tom - While California is more progressive in social issues we do not have a progressive tax system any longer. The conservatives have screwed up our budgeting process with their supermajority nonsense for raising taxes and we have a repugnant one governor who protects himself and his rich and greedy Tinseltown pals from paying higher taxes. Now our state has to issue IOU's, Arnold's Funny Money, because he and a small minority of repugnant ones refuse to raise taxes on the rich and greedy. Nope all they did was raise the sales tax which is a regressive tax that screws the poor and middle classes. All Arnold and the repugnant ones want to do is balance the budget on the backs of those least able to afford it. Thankfully we have President Obama who will not allow our country to go bankrupt from the bushwhacked economy he inherited.

Thanks for that update where Vale pointed out the obvious truth that the repugnant ones didn't want to help save or create jobs, they just wanted to mollify their rich and greedy base so they could accumulate more wealth while the rest of us languish in their bushwhacked economy. They should stop their incessant whining and try to work on thinking up some useful ideas to save and create jobs, like getting rid of their jobs outsourcing tax credit.

As to Clinton helping Maloney-Obama and Hillary have a tenuous relationship at best. Rumor has it that she will resign from what has been, for her, a very unsatisfying role. She has less input and autonomy than other Secretaries of State; Obama has no interest in her input, and thus, she has none. It is rumored that she will run for Governor, although I have seen nothing in print on it-perhaps it is a trial balloon?

I tend to give no credence at all to the rumor that she will challenge Obama for the democratic nomination, but stranger things have happened. After all, Ted Kennedy was on the record denying that he would challenge Carter in '80; when Carter's polls dropped, Kennedy 'changed his mind'. So, maybe Hillary is watching and weighing her options. It sure sounds like Warren Buffet would endorse her this time around.
